Heh, I'm impressed, this is a good tut, and jus as an add on, you can get a really nice effect if you use " brightness/contrast" at the end of the process and raise the contrast to get a nice firery look. ^^

im a noob to PS... how do you Link a layer to another one?

select one of the layers to be linked.
check the empty box beside the layer(s) to link to. you'll see a chain-like-thing.
when u select any of the layers, the layers linked to it will have the chain-like-thing beside it.
