Description
Here's my first installement for the elemental series
As we can see here, this would represent the element of water. Which would you like me to do next?
Im definately going to do a fire one, any suggestions for other elements i should cover?
Sketched originally with a pencil in history class, I cleaned her up and added color and whatnot with PS 8.0 CS.
Any comments welcome ^_^

It`s realy good, I love how it`s mostly black but outlined and shadowed with blue. That was a interesting twist.

i love the light blue on black! i agree with some other comments in saying that i really like the simplicity and elegance. how did you get it to be light blue on black? with the computer program u mentioned? was it just regular pencil on white before?

Hi! Glad you like the piece! Its one of my favourites
As for how I did it, yep you guessed it. its a simple pencil sketch I did on the other side of a handout during a uni class a few years back.
So I scanned it, and played around with the color replacement tool and invert effect to get the finished product. Mind youi used the opposite to the blue hue outlining her form in the final result. Otherwise the pic would be black with orangey yellow outlines

Love the pose, she flows just like water. Very nice.
Also, I love the darkness, the blending, and how she fades into her background.

As for the hand, yeah It might have been a lil boo boo but I actually purposely left out quite a few parts of the character's body:
the legs
fingertips on the left (our left) hand
her left ear
and her right hand
I thought that, along with the bubbles, it would subtly accentuate the fluidity and her afinity with the element of water..

yeah I did that on a fluke actually!! I wanted her blue, but blue on white made it TOO simplistic so i ran it through the invert tool and re-added the blue tint, im glad it came out this nicely.

Nice work Nei, I think the simplicity of this piece is what makes it good. It really adds this water like pureness with the blue outline. I think the pose helps this as well. I'd like to see the fire one next, and after that well u can prob do like air and earth.
