Surprised you didn't take a more Star Wars design, due to actually having a Trade Federation ship in the background.

CapnNOMN [2013-11-13 23:16:52 +0000 UTC]

Hi. You're amazing! If you could take a quick second to answer this, you would honestly change my life: What do I physically need to do during practice, each day, to eventually be able to create art like you? How did you learn and become so amazing?!!

Can you please break down exactly what one extremely motivated beginner student would need to do, each & every day when he or she sits down to practice, in order to create these incredible photorealistic 2d digital drawing/paintings?

People just say 'Practice.' But I do not know 'exactly' what this entails.

Can you maybe make me, like, a list or something?!! So I can then go out and explore those topics? Or at least tell me what I need to physically be doing with my practice time so I can get as good as you?

If there's any books/DVDs/tutorials you can recommend that totally helped you get better, that would be so freakin' incredible!!!

Thanks for the help!

the most important thing is :
1- try to understand the geometric forms
2- practice the light and shadows with geometric forms
3- Start to apply this knowledge (basic forms) with the human body and then apply light and shadows.
4- Use the geometric forms to understand perspective.
5- Apply the light and shadows using perspective.
6- Study composition.
7- Apply human budy and geometric forms in a perspective background with light and shadows.
8- Finally study the theory of colours (this is the most easy part because in this step you know how to apply volume in shapes)

tip: used movies images as reference of color and composition, try to see all the art that you love and understand what was the idea of the artist.
Trust in me, this is the best form to study art. Be patient and you will see result
Ask me what ever you want, I don´t have problem
Good luck my friend!

Thank you SO MUCH. I guess I am trying to massively improve at my own drawing right now as a foundation.

Can you offer me any advice here, how to get started drawing, like what to do daily for practice?!!

Should I be pulling up reference photos daily on my PC or from books and try to copy them?

Lol, even deeper: HOW? By looking at the image on screen then back down at my paper, and back at the screen, over and over again until it's mastered, over many many days with many lessons learned.. is this what learning how to draw [so I can paint my outlines later] looks like?
