Would it be possible to get a walkthrough of this? My sister just had a baby and I want to get him a Max plush so he'll grow up to be awesome! Though I'd probably keep it to myself until he turns at least 1...

Wow, not...really. I literally just wing my plushes and puppets, I cut rough fabric pieces out and then sew them over and over until I get the shape I want. :/ I waste a lot of fabric. If you can find a pattern for a teddy bear that may give you a start, they should have them at any fabric store, just look in the pattern books.

Ahaaa! You're Sparky! Steve mentioned you in an interview with PiQ magazine a while back, I always wondered what the plushie looked like, and this lives up to my expectation of AWESOME!

Lol I know a photo of this Max was part of a slideshow at last year's Comic-Con (because I was there) but I didn't know I was mentioned in an interview in a magazine. He used my name? I didn't know he even knew it.

Lemme quote from the interview;
'..I just met a gal named Sparky, who was hefting a life-size Max doll that when you feel it, seemed to have some sort of articulated skeleton inside. Hopefully it was no one she knew.'
Seems like he does know it~

Thanks. I honestly didn't know he remembered it.
And I didn't get to know the armature before sewing it into Max so no, I didn't know it personally.

I wish i could sew this good, I tried once by making my own characters of mine , but they look like roadkill. This is a badass skill you have, so well done, and naturally epic.

Lol you have no idea how many times I had to make his different body parts over again. I just wing stuff like this, and hope it comes out okay eventually.

GOOD LORD SPARKY!!! You stitched this without a machine??!! Even stitching or not, that's really impressive!!

Lol thanks. See what happened was, I did have most of his body done and a head by the time the machine died. I wound up needed to make an all-new head, so I hand-stitched that, then I had to re-do all his limbs, sometimes more than once, then I re-did part of the torso...again without the machine...so yeah in the end I think it ended up being at least 90% hand-stitched. My Dremel broke too (he has a plastic armature) so I had to buy a hacksaw...So yeah this guy was pretty-labor intensive. Thanks again.
If he holds up I'm bringing him to the Comic Con (he's going to Wonder Con with me on Sunday...hope they let me take him in. But then I was able to take Wilt in at CCI that one time so I guess it'll be okay).

That definitely is life-sized. Someone's ready to invade WonderCon (and possibly Comic-Con, also).
