Description I left the city a long time ago... Yet, I stilll have a faint memory of walking unconsicous through the empty streets for the last time, setting it on fire..

It has been years since I left the city...

I can still see the flames in the horizon..The city kept burning since the day I left... Burning but never leaving its place to ashes

Beautiful...and the caption is interesting. I really love the oranges and brown-reds in many of your works, it's a lovely combination. The raven looks very artsy.

Where are the words from?? It sounds like something from Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.

The words are mine,
[however I have read Fahrenheit451 about 4 years ago, there may be pieces of it left in my brain that I keep using unconsicously..]

Lol. Well if you read your words, it just sounds like the main character thinking about his past. But your words are beautiful, comparable to Bradbury.

from ~critiqueme

Very nice use of color. It seems to have captured the fire look quite well. Also, the placement of the crow adds to the composition, making it a strong element without overwhelming the piece. I like how the background suggests some sort of structures. I like how you achieved the dirty look to the whole piece. Additionally, I like how the words (scribbles) at the top look. It enhances a certain dreamlike ambience that the piece seems to have.

Overall, I don't really see anything awry with this painting. I think that I might have tried to enhance the background slightly, put in slightly more definite building looking things, to give it a more nightmarish feel, but that's just me.

Keep up the excellent work.

freaking cool use of acrylics.
to me it looks like a bird taking one final glance at its home, the forest, burning before it takes off. like you and the burning streets of the city.

Neizen In reply to killianzero [2003-10-08 04:06:23 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!
You are right, the bird is me- a part of me- that I left back there..
I am no longer as couragous and as complete as he crow, but I am no longer hiding and watching...
I had to leave it there... I had to
'years later', now... whenever my (darkened)reflection on a window decides that it is his time to interfere- I bow, and promise that I wont forget..- but refuse to be the crow again-
I carry his memories and his strength.. however i choose not to be aware of them- ...it makes you invulnerable-but bitter..

Thanks a lot The Crow (Im sorry it is not a raven) have always looked menacing- or more like irritatingly powerful in its own being... It is a predator that is never a pray..
In this piece the crow is about the charge- and it is preying upon the remains of my old self (the city is an analogy for myself) even when it is burning...

You can be the scariest creature in the night and the crow still wont fear you.. The scavenger that will allways be staring at me in my darkest moments, challenging me to survival...
