It’s been 3 weeks since we lost our dog. So, I’m making an exception with my usual first piece of the year. Hanna would’ve turned 16 years old next month. I loved her more than life.

We’ll bury her ashes in the spring, when the wood anemone flowers cover every inch of the bit of forest outside my mum’s house. It’s how I want to remember her. With bright eyes, a wagging tail, and way too much energy for someone her age.

I am so sorry, if you’ve been through this. The love was worth it a thousand times, but god, it really hurts. I miss her terribly 💜
