And I'm so glad you recognize that it was a *huge* undertaking. It took me a year to do it, but I wasn't working on it all the time. I kept getting *super* bored of cutting out the pieces. And when I put together a whole side, I was like OH NOES!!! It's *THIS* big............. Well, I can't stop now.... XD

Damn. Well, it's done now and you can just lay there and sigh happily for you will never make one ever again...unless Gabe decides to pay you a shit ton of money to make more.

Valve is about the only client I think could afford to pay me enough, and that I love enough to make another one.
However, poor Companion Cube is sitting in my living room, skinned alive with his guts all over my apartment, cause he popped a lot of seams during filming, and I've got devious plans to make him lighter and more portable, so that maybe he can go outside more often

Aww! It might take a long time, but I'm sure you could eventually! But I understand, it can be pretty intimidating. When I started to cosplay, I had the advantage of having 2 semesters of really good sewing instruction, so I felt pretty confident in my ability to sew, but I wasn't born that way!

I used the game model to draft up a pattern for each flat piece. I added 1/2 inch seam allowance and then cut them out of felt, and the original ones out of craft fuse, so that they'd all be backed somewhat. Then I filled him with knock-off lovesac foam, and poly stuffing, as well as some bean bag pellets and other random pieces of foam that I had left over from other projects. THen I stitched him closed. I'm actually redoing his insides and fixing a plethora of popped seams that happened from too much pushing and pulling when he was getting moved around a lot for that photo shoot and video.
