That's what most bases are o3o Sure anyone could have done it, but if they are going to use a pre-made base might as well credit the person who pre-made it

This just questions the entire base community. I believe most bases are somewhat cancerous. It's the same as just having someone tracing the original image, just it generally turns out more crappily and has a middle-man.
However, I think bases made by hand (ie, not traced from a picture), completely original, are the "good" ones.

Its still not art theft, Art Theft is when you claim a picture as your own with no change. Secondly, Saying most bases are "Cancerous" is a huge over statement. It all depends where you look. Yea, some are poorly made, and they probably took 10 minutes on it, but that is not the case for "most" bases. Some traced bases take hours to make, because the person making the base has to improvise through the clothes and hair, if someone wanted to make a naked base, and this character had baggy cloths on, it would either take awhile to perfect, or 10 minutes to be a ship wreck. Thirdly, If the original artist wanted the base taken down, or credit for the original image, they have the right to have that. If the person who did make the base DENIES this, then the artist can then report that person and have it taken down. 

Yes there are bad Bases, But there are way more better good bases then there are bad. to call someones base "Crappily made" is both rude and unnecessary.

Look at the replies to this own base. A majority of them are extremely bad. The users would probably do better work themselves. This is the problem. Lazy people, most likely children, take them and pixel on items. Except, they do it badly. Very badly.
A lot of these people are barely exercising their own artistic talent, put out bad pieces, and will take a very, very long time to improve. This is the cancerous side.

Not only, but there's little point in making bases. A lot of them are lazy, yes, but why make them in the first place? To get attention from.. unsavory individuals? It is extremely, extremely easy for someone to find and make details like a clear head and naked body in an already made drawing. To take hours on something like this is ridiculous and is an extreme waste of time.

Look at this own base. Really, look at it. It's crap. The lines are very shakey and uneven, the shoes have been merged with the legs, and there are a lot of anatomical mistakes not present in the original piece.

Bases are bad. Period.

Im sorry we do not agree, I do see your points, and I have seen the product of poorly produced Pieces from bases. But I do not agree that people won't improve while using bases. AS A BASE USER, My art has greatly improved over a YEAR. Not even that. I believe someone can improve their skills with a base. Maybe not anatomy wise, but Clothes, Hair, Eyes, facial expressions, shoes, and everything that ISNT anatomy. We all have to start somewhere. People will get better. Putting people down because it doesn't meet your standards wont make them better. 

Let me give you some helpful advise that will both get your point across without you sounding like an ass. Instead of putting people down, and saying their choice of art is crappy, try giving some POINTERS.

You could have presented these points in a manner that would have shown that you do not like what you were looking at, AND not sound like an ass. 

Again, I do see your points, and I am sorry we do not agree or come to a conclusion, But the only reason I sad anything, was because you made an unnecessary comment, that would have potentially hurt several peoples feelings, because of an OPINION.

I see your point where you improve, non-anatomy wise, though, now I feel my feelings are more geared towards the people that ONLY put our base-work and put very little effort in their creations.

Personally, I care little if I hurt certain people or groups of people's feelings. Though, I see the need for constructive criticism and perhaps will put more of an emphasis on that next time.

And thank you, I do appreciate the comment. Although, I didn't make the profile and is from a song series I like. Lol, I suck at art.
