Description
Youtube link if it goes too slowly [link]My most recent animation assignment from school.
I made that puppet from scratch, using armature wire, epoxy putty, m-wrap, gauze, and some kind of special latex mixed with acrylic paint.
I thank my sister for convincing me to not make something four legged as I usually do. I had to drill holes in the stage and attach the puppet to it via the bolts built into its feet, with screws (those are called tie downs. Every stop motion puppet apparently has to have tie downs) Four tie downs would have been hell to work with D:
I like the tail 'ripple' at the beginning, loath the 'spazz out session' that follows, and am pleased with the look and walk.
Odds are, I'm probably going to use this guy in my final project.

Hm, didn't realise tiedowns were used. I mean sound logical when you think about it, but never knew xDĀ

The pro stop mo films hide them really well, but if you look up like independent films or student films you can sometimes spot the holes made in the stage for the tie-downs.

Oh go, stop-motion. I've never worked with it, but I hear it's hell. That said, this looks really good. How long did it take you to make the animation?

Waay too long. I had to re-start it at one point, because I didn't like how it was coming out. If I had to guess, I'd say about four hours, give or take, for almost 6 seconds of animation x.x
Yes, it's hard, but it has it's own charm

Yes, definitely. It's well worth the work. I just happen to be too lazy to do that work.
