Description
This is the assignment for this week from the group , a free fall pose.Since I haven't drawn backgrounds until now or done drawings without lineart, I ended up trying all of these in a single assignment.
I only watched a picture for reference, but my drawing ended up so close to the original, I can't even believe it.
This is the original picture www.leblogdetom.info/wp-contenβ¦
Btw, dunno why, but the legs look different than the torso, even though I used exactly the same 3 colors. Might be the random shading I always try lol.
Full size free to download.

About the clouds, I really should have checked at least one tutorial before doing that.
But thank you.

Well, thank you, but it's not something original, without a reference to guide me, it would have ended up horrible.
As for what I used, just SAI, found out some new things about settings, layers etc and applied them all in this drawing.Β
I didn't try drawing in Paint.net since I got the tablet a few months ago, I should look at it again sometime soon, but it's a bit instable, crashed a few times when I was working with the mouse on it, and loosing a few hours of work, doesn't sound good to me .

hoo... didnt know that Microsoft Paint.NET does crash~
hehe~~ reference is just to assist~ (dont be dependent on it though, like i always done in past)
hee~~
is pretty nice, right?
well, Photoshop do have similar setting. BUT, the only think i found out is different, is that Paint Tool SAI is the most suitable for tablet pen~ drawing feling is even realistic, even i tried using mouse~ painting with photoshop seems impossible, only Paint Tool SAI can (by my experience)

Photoshop is great too, but way too difficult for a lazy person like me, I like to have just a few tools and a few settings knowed, I don't really like searching thoroughly a program, and PS asks exactly that, learning how to use it.
SAI is so easy, that you just open it and you're already drawing, without even knowing what those tools are.

yeah~
is pretty hard to use Photoshop mainly for drawing
is only useful for complex colouring (except watercolour with brush) and extra effects

Yep, when doing logos and promo pannels for the last work place I got, it was convenient, but since then they changed the versions soo often, more often than Apple got new I-phone's out...so if I want to use it, I need to relearn it .

is better if you stick to your own version, rather than using newer one.
i believe is not much different, by function. but interface might change a bit or a lot
right now, Adobe gives free CS2, so i downloaded mine~ is pretty nice software and tools seems more realistic than GIMP 2.8~ but is more comfort in GIMP 2.8, i mean, more tidy~

Gimp 2.6.12 is the version I use, the last very stable and best version of Gimp ever to be made.

what about version 2.8.2? is okay too~
now has single-window mode, which is very tidy and customizable~
yeah, is pretty powerful. need more powerful pc.
last time, im using netbook, with GIMP 2.6, is fast~ but GIMP 2.8, is quite lag ehehe~~

Yep, not a grea laptop mine, so that's why I'm still on 2.6. Dunno, each time I tried Gimp 2.8 on my french edition of windows it keeps crashing, after I get up to 3 layers on huge resolutions...something that SAI handles with ease, same as Gimp 2.6

Took me more to do the background than the person, so I'm glad you like it.
