Stas had long ago gotten used to the teasing and jeering in his direction.
Since elementary school his appearance attracted unwanted attention. The boys acted directly and aggressively, trying to destroy or humiliate the "foreign body". The girls, at first, pretended to be friends, and ended up with some kind of meanness or prank. Kids are cruel, bullying has never stopped. On top of that, his father died early. Those were difficult and painful years for Stas, which led to a lot of complexes and problems. Even now they were still dragging a web, like sharp threads and wounding, forcing him to look back on the past at times. The utter distrust in people, loneliness, emptiness... In all this he was floundering since childhood, and only creativity helped from time to time to take a breath of air.
At the institute it was the same, only harsher, more serious. Bad companies, bad people were magnetically attracted to him. At that time, Stas almost hit rock bottom, hating himself, wishing himself dead, and not finding ways and meaning, about to give up, drowning in the "dirt".
"Dirt," he could find no other word for the disgusting grins and nasty hands that grasped and tried to break him.
But, thank God, he made it.
