I would like to share this with you...I had some spare time and I thought, I try something out. This is the result and it is just an experiment. A drawing like that takes me under three hours from start to finish; it needs no reference whatsoever and it is the first one of it´s kind - I´ve combined some techniques here, that I am already using for quite some time, but never thought about combining them.
It´s FateFreak´s fault - she said I coulnd´t improve Kyoko 16 and I thought "okay, a challenge..." -
I could take this drawing from there and make it photorealistic, by the way. I know how and in the future I might do some Kyoko-stuff in that technique. Perhaps it´s time for a poll...
Comments are welcome - please feel free to compare the two pics 16 [link] and 16b and keep in mind that 16b is pretty rough. If I would have spent more then 30 additional minutes on it, I could have come up with a far better result.
If I continue in that direction, my work will be unique in about half a year´s time - my very own technique, noone else is using in this world. I must say, I am developing some sort of modest pride

Die Haut wirkt zwar besser, aber ich finde hier sind jetzt die Haare zu verwaschen und strukturlos. Auch das Brillenglas ist nun irgendwie zu schwach.

Das stimmt. Es sind keine Haare mehr, sondern irgendeine schaumige Masse. Aber das würde ich digital dann wieder einfügen. Kein Problem. Ist nur einfacher mit einem Grafiktablett und ich habe meines gerade verliehen an einen Typen, der es vorzieht, in Stuttgart gegen Wasserwerfer zu kämpfen und der wohl nicht mehr vorhat dieses Jahr wieder in den Norden zurückzukehren - sonst hätte ich die Struktur der Haare noch mit eingefügt. Mit der Maus geht´s auch; ist aber sehr mühsam und ich mache jeden dritten Strich noch einmal, weil er nicht richtig sitzt.
Das Brillenglas ist mit einem normalen Blendeneffekt gefiltert und ich habe es nicht noch heller gemacht. Es liegt auf einer separaten Ebene und es zu verstärken wäre tatsächlich nur ein einziger Mausklick nebst Parameteränderung.
Da sich so viele meiner Besucher für die qualitativ hochwertigeren Zeichnungen interessieren, werde ich die Tage mal eine richtige machen - mit allem Drum und Dran und dann mal sehen, wie gut ich es hinbekomme. Ich bin ja selbst schon ganz gespannt. Ich wollte eigentlich auf mein Tablett warten, aber das wird wohl noch dauern...
Deine Tasse ist übrigens schon ein paar Tage bestellt - ich denke mal, Du kannst ab dritte Januarwoche damit rechnen

ich weiß, ich weiß... ich hatte das Teil ausprobiert und fand es damals blöd, weil ich es für Technische Illustration nicht brauchen konnte - also hat er mir seinen Synthesizer geliehen und ich ihm mein Grafiktablett. Inzwischen mache ich aber mehr Generelle und jetzt kann ich es brauchen. Hätte ich das vorher gewußt, hätte ich es nicht verliehen

The colours are truly superb that way. Perhaps the feet tops and the right hand are a bit too light and "plain" compared to other parts of the picture, but the overall effect is really great. I especially like what you've done with the left arm, nose and lips. The "recipe" is probably better kept secret, but I'm guessing markers and Photoshop are involved. Anyway, a veyr promising technique!

yes - you are right; too flat. But I would do it better next time.
Markers, yes - Photoshop 6 (!) and mouse. No tablet - with a tablet I would most probably be able to do it quicker, but I have lent it to a friend - I hope to get it back in January; until then I will try things out with the mouse. Also I have some ideas to quicken the process without letting quality suffer - my aim is photorealism; we will see, how far I will get

Ups and downs, like in everybody´s life, I suppose and I am not whining or complaining. Family, new family, own company, kids... lots of things getting "in the way", making one earn money, instead of doing what´s fun and what has a small chance of becoming great one day. Might sound as if I was missing out of things, but I have to say that I wouldn´t be here today, without these drawbacks, ups and downs. It was all neccessary and now I can finally work on what I always wanted to do
