Easy, easy! My parents didn't teach me that sex was bad, they just told me to wait till marriage. No need to chew them out, they did no harm.

"Mommy, where do babies come from?"
"DONT DO IT."
yep that's how I'd teach my children that I don't want.

That's what my health teacher told my class when Sex Ed came around. After that he said that if no one wanted to hear about it because they were told in other schools not to learn about it they could leave :3

my sex ed class was actually taught by an extremely catholic guy and he got fired the second he said,"God will bring his wrath on you if you have sex!" i busted out laughing and said out loud,"That's gold! Coming from the pedophile!" a few others joined me in laughter but the others were shocked. i had to sit in the principles office with him though.

Wait, what exactly did you mean by "coming from the pedophile"? O.o

wow, this was two years ago. uuuuuuhhhh, i was a stupid middle schooler and i didn't care if it were a rumor or not. also i can't believe that i was stupid enough to post something as distasteful as that comment. I apologize dearly.

I have a great idea on how to make kids not have sex
Show them a video of the little bundle of joy thats the result of having sex being brought into the world!
I really wish I never found that video on Youtube!
I'm still scarred for life by it! :*D

Yes, it's better to teach teens and preteens something than nothing.

They're not necessarily "going to screw anyway". Some people do wait until they're in a serious, committed adult relationship. Now, I'm not really convinced we need to wait until marriage, but I would like my future children to wait until they're adults, and are in a long-term, stable, committed relationship with an adult.
But you're right, it would be nigh impossible to prevent it completely, unless you prevent them from having any kind of social life. But I'll do my best to instill good values, and guide them to hopefully reach their own conclusion about why it's better, physically and psychologically, to wait.

((Yeah. I was talking about the majority of teens I live around, they're going to fuck wether they know anything or not. But you do have a good point. ))

hereru In reply to Ask-The-Barrel [2013-05-14 17:05:37 +0000 UTC]
So do you, actually. I mean, not ALL teens will, but many do, and it would be difficult to stop them, practically speaking. It's kind of scary, even though I won't be dealing with that for many years, but I guess you just have to do the best to teach them well, instill good values, and hope for the best? I mean it's not like you could just prevent your teen-aged children from ever leaving the house (nor would you want to do that, really).

Very true, sex is an instinct in a sense, it's the natural flow of the world. :/
Tell your kids that, why should they grow up thinking that the natural way of reproduction is wrong?

the making of human beings, construction of brains, and teamwork require 2. why is the joining of 2 to be considered sinful?

In my opinion, if you wanna keep your kids from having sex, remind them that you had it to make them.
Makes me shudder to think about my parents doing the horizontal mambo, I dunno about anyone else.

I think sex ed is primarily the job of the parents. You got 'em here, you might as well explain the reason why along with any morals you want them to have.
Schools should only have to be about the physical mechanics; how it happens, what could physically go wrong (disease, injury) or right (babies), prevention tactics for those things, and so on.
It also bugs me about this health craze schools are going through to the point some schools are rumored to take away home lunches from kids. If the kid wants a homecooked meal or a candy bar, let 'em have a freakin' homecooked meal or candy bar!

Nekromanda In reply to AsheSkyler [2012-04-26 07:28:29 +0000 UTC]
I agree with you on that, sex ed is supposed to be the responsibility of the parents, and schools should focus on the things you mentioned. Though that's weird, are they really taking away home lunches from kids? That's not cool. I mean I understand promoting good food but come on...

It's a rumour I'd heard, I'm not sure if it was true. Supposedly the staff didn't like what the mother had sent for her son to eat, so they threw it away, gave him a school lunch, and then sent a bill for the lunch. I think it made the other parents mad enough the school didn't do it again.

My grandma and stepmom told me they'd rather I masturbate than have sex with my boyfriend at the time. They even offered to get me some toys from spencers.
I just thought I'd share that.

My mother found I had a sex toy. She took it away from me and gave me an extremely long talk about how masturbation is wrong, and that sex is also wrong unless you are married to someone of the opposite gender that you love and that you are trying to conceive a child.

"But if they're not told about sex, then they won't have it." That may have worked back in the stone ages, but as you can see, our main mode of transportation isn't a herd animal pulling a cart anymore.

If you keep people from their vices, they're only gonna want them more. Why does anybody think Christian kids saddleback (going in the backdoor to screw and protect their virginity at the same time)? No matter how hard anybody tries or threatens kids, they're gonna be curious about sex regardless. And just telling them not to do it because "Sex is for procreation, not recreation" - my grandmother's exact words, btw - will just get them more fascinated by this seemingly faraway concept. And parents who refuse to even acknowledge sex will warrant the even worse prospect of kids turning to their friends or porn for sex education (or school, which is even worse, because it's the same concept: no sex. Ever.)
TL;DR - Fucking people, man. And this stamp. It's awesome.
