After reading quite a few of the comments, I have begun to question my own beliefs. Although my family is Christian, I would not consider myself strictly just that. I like to think of myself as "open minded." Yes, I accept that there is a God, or higher being - that God being the Christian God. I've never read the bible... never been interested. Why let your life be controlled by a book? Despite believing there is a God, do we truly know that there is one? How can we be absolutely certain when God does not let His presence be known, e.g. empty prayers?Β

Anyways, just wanna say thanks for this stamp, and the great opinions I've been able to read from it.

Okay. Hold up ... How can there even BE a God if he wasn't created by something GREATER then he? Or does the scientific term; 'Matter cannot be created or destroyed, only changed into another form.' mean nothing to humanity? Every being, object and item came from another being, object or item. Like babies are from their 2 parents, fruit is from a tree, and color from dyes.

It doesn't really make sense. Same thing how the supposed 'holy God' can even ban someone just because they don't believe in something he likes. You know, how Satan supposedly was sent to Hell because he rebelled against God? (Or so I've heard and slightly have been reading from Blogs debating on both God and Lucifer himself.)

That would pretty much prove that God wasn't the approving type of other's beliefs. Basically it's either believe it what he does and respect it, or you're going to Hell. Correct me if I'm wrong (In a respectful matter, if you would kindly do so.) but that seems a bit biased. Kind of hard to believe that God is supposed to be a jolly, holy Deity if he punishes someone for something as small as that. If this supposed Long-Winded Fable is true, then I'm actually GLAD that Satan told Adam and Eve to eat from the Tree of Wisdom. Where the Hell would be be if we didn't!?

Just imagine a world where we had to succumb to the will of one person. That sounds like a Dictatorship if you ask me. But don't mind a 'stupid, atheistic, little brat' like me. I'm just saying what's on my mind after reading a butt-load of comments and blogs that originated from arguments and debates such as these.

*takes a deep breath because she knows shes probably going to start something*

okay... first of all I'd like to say.. if you really want to know anything about God, read a bible. don't read internet blogs of people chatting to get your sources. I learned demonology through writings the same way I learned about God through the bible. its all called faith, not facts.

now to answer your first question. God created himself. along with everything else. Start at Genesis 1:1 if you want to read it (I promise the bible will not burn you, its just a book)

second, Satan (orΒ Lucifer, as he was called)Β wasΒ God's high priest, his most beautiful creation and heΒ left on his own accord. he chose to leave God and his heavenly birthrightΒ because he felt he deserved all of the praise God was getting just because he was pretty. God never kicked him out of heaven, his own pride drove him out. he never even closed the gates of heaven, Satan just threw away his rights to enterΒ but then stole them back after giving adam and eve the fruit, Satan could still walk back and fourth as stated in the book of Job.

God himself loves all of his children whether they love him or not. he doesn't not allow people into heaven, their sin just doesn't allow them to pass through the gates.

God is not a dictator, he doesn't rule people's lives. people have the choice to believe in him or not and they have the choice to act as they will. God knew beforehand Adam would eat the fruit but he wanted to give mankind the chance to choose their own fates, otherwise he wouldn't have let Adam eat it. After all, an all-knowing God made of pure love would only want his children to choose, right?

Why wouldn't I be one? Is it really that shameful to believe in a god who's main rule is to love one another?

And why would I bring up religion in science? The only time those 2 should ever collide is during the Big Bang theory, which isn't technically even against the bible. It says God created the earth, no where does it say /how/ he did it aside from that he spoke it to be XD besides, science proves a lot of the bible to be factual. There's no reason those two should even be argued aside that ppl just like to argue

psychofoxpickle In reply to Cloud-Seroku [2014-03-17 01:43:09 +0000 UTC]

Well a big problem with us "bible thumpers" are that a lot of us talk with our stubborn heads instead of using our hearts. not to preach at you or anything, but in the bible it specifically tells us not to shove our religion down people's throats and I try to follow that to the best of my ability. it doesn't say "condemn everyone who doesn't think like you" or anything, either, which a lot of people seem to not know for some reason. all we're supposed to do is love and teach those who don't know, never force anyone to believe what we believeΒ or tell people theirΒ beliefs areΒ wrong if we disagree. we're supposed to be open minded and accepting to everyone too :3

And if you don't like me because i'm a "bible thumper" then there's really nothing I can do about that, though I don't dislike you any more just because of how you feel towards me :3

Why do people even fight about stuff like this ... ? It's the same thing as fighting about likes and dislikes; it's pretty much pointless. But that's how I see it.

I'm an Aethist so I don't believe in any type or form of a God. Yet I respect others religions since that's a sensitive topic to converse about. ^~^'

I know what you mean :3 I don't like to /fight/ about religion or anything like that.. I mean... I don't care if you're atheist or agnostic or what religion you are :3 the only times I ever get involved is if I feel I need to add a little something, but that's really ever it

I'm a Christian, but I've taken religion courses, I've studied more religions than my own and I find them all pretty interesting :3 I love to see the way different people think and believe and why they think and believe those things (which is also why I love psychology lol), and I don't ever want toΒ seem like i'm forcing my opinions on someone because I don't think that's how people are supposed to be <3

I just wonder how a lot of things started ... Because the Bible won't give me direct answers, and I certainly can't go back in time. I would if I could. I just want to know how everything was REALLY created, not just by 'God' or the supposed 'Big Bang Theory' because those aren't well supported assumptions. Well, they are but not to me.^-^'

I personally would like solid, full proof that I can see in front of me, that I know is there. So I can't really believe others if they say that 'God created Humanity' or whatever. Because if the Earth was created, how was the Universe made? HowΒ  was the pure energy of Existence even existed? These are just really important and brain scratching questions. So it's a little hard for me to rely on either Science or Religion to prove anything to me. :'D

I totally get what you're getting at. Even as a christian, I've still wondered about the same things. But the only relevant difference between us is that I realized that I wasn't capable of seeing the truth in its entirety.
To paraphrase one of my favorite heroines, Captain Katherine Janeway.
"If you were a bird you wouldn't know anything about politics or the cutting of marble- even if you had the best teachers, because your mind would be too small."
Therefore, the first premise we must accept is that as mortal humans we are limited in our capacity to understand. Under that condition alone, all the evidence in the universe could be at our fingertips (and indeed, just might be) and we'd be none the wiser due to our inability to interpret what we're seeing.
Thus I'm sorry to say that the only words of wisdom I can impart will not put the voices demanding tagible proof to rest, but I've found faith to be the heart's evidence.

Wow, I almost completely forgot about this little conversation I walked in on! Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion with me -- at the time I knew little to nothing about religion nor did I care about it because it was a rather touchy topic to graze upon. Especially when so many people believe in other gods or rules or beliefs, that even breathing a single word about it could trigger a possible argument -- one that I prefer to avoid preferable! :'D

But I understand what you mean. A very interesting quote, I must say. I can understand the concept as to why Katherine is your favorite -- or at least I hope I did.

I normally don't get myself wrapped up in these only because I'm not one for religion but I at least to the courtesy of others to respect it. If they believe in God -- that's fine. Just don't force religion onto those who don't wish to partake in it! :0

I'm one of those people. But once again, thank you for taking your personal time to answer these rather ... "misinformed" comments I've made in the past. uwu

Bringing up religion in a discussion really is an art, especially if you're talking to someone who isn't open to different opinions, or isn't willing to support their possition with anything besides "because I said so".Β

But yeah, I kinda do tend to dig up ancient history, especially if I feel I have something to contribute, or if I can help them understand something. Unfortunatly not everyone appreciates my contributions, as they tend to be rather politically incorrent :/
