And what if Santa Clause is a cunning thief that robs you blind while you sleep and leaves cheap gifts behind so that it takes your attention away from the real intention?
Also, I really can't see how you could think of Satan as the good guy (and by Satan, I assume you mean the devil)

Satan doesn't rule over hell. People seem to forget that he was banished there, and meant to suffer for the rest of his life there (sure he pops up here and there but he goes back to hell to suffer some more). He's not on some unholy throne...also Satan wouldn't be the good guy in the first place because he'd punish you for all eternity. You would be paying for your sins forever without a chance for forgiveness.

I like to think as Satan as the guy who deals with the bad and puts them in a therapy circle.
Satan: "Ok, everyone! What did we learn today?"
Perv: "That rape is NOT ok!"
Murderer: "That stabbing someone doesn't make anything better!"
Satan: "There we go! Now the next time God puts you back on earth, we'll remember that, ok?"
Everyone: "Ok!"
Or something like that.... I'm not religious, but I do like to believe that Satan (if real) has a sense of humor :I

If Satan is a bad person, and if bad people went to him, it would make more sense that they would team up agienst everything good. Why would Satan have any positive connection with the person that banished him?

Cause I have a sense of humor? Seriously, that comment was old and I'm surprised you even took the time to respond. Thank you Makes me feel like someone took the time to strike a conversation... thing.
In all honesty, I've joked about this sort of things a lot with my religious friendsΒ (such as how we made up aΒ scenario when my transgender friend's father prayed for a daughter, but God already made a boy, so he squished the two genders together)
Besides, its just a theory that Satan is the "good guy" (which I doubt, but still... just a joke) so if he IS a good guy, he'd be in charge of all these annoying, crazy people and he has to deal with these terrible people, set them right, then send them up to God to see if they truly "changed." Get what I'm saying?

β¦it was a joke. I was trying to be friendly when I said "conversation." Another thing, I don't need to be "given logic" on a subject I don't believe in, though I understand your loyalty and faith. If you want to believe in bad and good, go ahead. If I want to make it humorous for myself, then I will.Β

As stupid as Ancient Aliens is (I only watch it for laughs) they did have an idea that maybe the reason why Lucifer is the "bad guy" was because he brought knowledge to mankind. According to this idea the others didn't like that and so told the humans how bad he was.

I don't know if satan is the good guy.. What I do know is that God has absolutely no sense of humor,Β
He's just a vengeful, sad sausage.... And His fan club is just as humorless.
While the bible is one big joke, the irony is, that there's not one tiny joke inside the good old book.
It's only fair to say that the appeal of Satan lies in the fact that God is such a boring fundamentalist...

Worth noting that going by the Bible, Satan killed 7-9 people. Because God told him too. So God could win a bet.
And Satan is derived from the Hebrew for "The Accuser" or "Devil's Advocate."

there is good and evil, you can't deny that. i mean, you can but.. they still bare their fruits.
the reason why people think there is no perfection is because they are too afraid to strive for it so to some, everything just 'is'. no good, no evil.. just do what you want and live till you die.. till we all die. certainly ain't too good, eh?
religion and faith are two different things. i don't blindly follow any religion, i beleive. i think. i learn. i know. i start to understand. i was born with a free will and i know for a fact whats good and bad, by the outcomes, the reasons, the fruits.. i certainly won't just blindly follow anyone that tells me, come with me because i am this person. anyone can say that. by who they really are, by their actions, thoughts, deeds.. i will know who they are.
while i do beleive in god, to me its not about god or devil. when i say, god, or devil, i don't think about a person. i think about goodness and evil. certainly you won't know a beatyfull girl by how she looks but who she is inside. and being that is said god is pure light, the truth, the way, god of life.. that god i follow. and i can't go wrong.
but think a moment what you are doing. satan may be the good guy suppose so, lets say. but are his followers good too?
god may be the real good guy, but are his followers doing what he said?
gods commands were for us to love one another, to do onto others, not to kill, not to wish something of others.. who respects this? indeed, if people did love one another and not make wars and kill each other, do you think there would be so much misery in this world? probably, everyone would be happy if we all did good instead of evil
whether you beleive in religion or not is irrelevent, but there is still good and evil. saying devil is the good guy will just give more of a reason to people to go wild and rush into their demise. suppose there is no god. who is going to save the world from all this destruction. devil? as long as our hearts are not made pure, no one can save us. we are the source of either good or evil in this world and everything we do.
i personaly have learned that i would rather do what jesus did and stand my life for that what i love then betray who i am and become a part of the problem. we attack out of fear of being destroyed.. and thats weakness, not strength. strength lies in facing our fears. rather then giving in to them. what if, your enemy turned your friend against you? what if the same poison that converted adam and eve runs through the veins of their successors, what if they just don't see.. we only know one thing. kill, or be killed. but eventually, we still get killed. no one lives forever, because they are too busy killing and hating, they forgot what its like to love and create and protect.
you know, if someone disturbs you, hurt you, with words for example, you will hurt them back, saying things of your own, out of hate. but you just did what your oponent did. you gain nothing. the strength lies in surpassing the insult. i see it on the forums all the time : ) two people arguing their points not really caring that they've long time ago drifted away from the topic and are now throwing personal insults, doing equal harm to the postwriter's point. same thing, the people of this world.. they are so busy making wars they forgot to love one another and take care of, putting the world in neglect.
bible is a very wise place to read. there are things that i don't agree with. like judgement.. propercy of the end... i wish to prevent all that. i wish everyone would be forgiven, everyone would learn how to be happy.. i wish there was no end of the world. i wish there was no hate.
certainly everyone makes mistakes. because we are all born as zero more or less, we learn. without forgiveness, there likely wouldn't be life. some learnt enough, some fell badly before they couldn't and some have trouble getting up. i beleive everyone deserves to be happy. people are too proud to smile and accept their mistakes beleiving they devalued themselves. but they keep being in this devalue by denying to forgive themselves and move on..
they remember what they did and the passion they did it with, how much they beleived it.. and to admit they were wrong to their former considered enemies?.. again, like a forum argue : ) once a person in a heated discussion is proven wrong, they don't back out, they keep on flaming knowing that they are wrong, keep pushing their side, going against themselves, betraying themselves, because they are again, afraid to face their mistake. instead of facing their fears and surpassing them, they give into them. but being brave enough to face our own mistakes is a higher strength then hiding from them. and if we beleived in those doing bad instead of hating them, im sure we would have nothing to be ashamed of once we realise they are not that bad as we thought of them to be and maybe they would have an easier time changing their ways knowing that you beleive in them and care for them and not judge them and hate them.
in the end, we do get strong. but truely strong. and we can also be strong, but only look strong. i think the first is more important.
i personaly think there are many who spoke in the name of god and likely disgraced his image, many who did things and thought they are doing the right thing.
but god's point is i beleive, goodness. life. i said i don't agree with some things in the bible but i still beleive in god's good heart. because i am not afraid. humanity is known to make assumptions. out of fear, they always consider the bad sides and it carries them away. they are afraid of the unknown. they don't know god.
rather then focusing on destroying god i think we should understand. to value life. to make this world a beatyfull place for us all. and to accept that, maybe god is not so perfect as he claims to be, maybe he did mistakes, maybe he only tries to do the right thing for us and maybe he cares for us more then we know. and we should beleive in him and the wisdom he gave us and carry out his vision of goodness. there really can be nothing wrong in goodness, we know whats good and whats bad.
its so easy to hate, reject, give up on someone, see the flaws. but these people are deeper then we see. and their lives hold value and everything they could be one day. not even ourselves our perfect, we can't put that burden on the heroes either, rip them apart, they only try what we all try. if you want perfect, you be so perfect as you expect others to be.. some people have lost their way, its easy to hate them for all the evil they do to us but maybe they really need us to give them what they've been missing in their life.
perhaps god treat us the way he does because we treat him and his goodness the way we do? its adding flame on flame, everyone pulls their side, like the meaningless forum discussions..
it is a long way for a man to become good but is glad to slip any time a wind pass by. we should not make the same mistakes as our ancestors that forgot about everything god thaught them once they were left alone for a while.
god or no god, goodness is the way to save the world, not war and hate and all the bad things. sometimes its good to listen because as much as we may beleive we know it all, there may be someone that knows more. we after all, know because we learned at some point of our lives and we still learn so its good to listen.
lets say its all true. god's son was crucified for teaching and everything god gave to mankind was rejected, like in a story jesus told. and today mankind speaks that god is not with them. i am not saying its anyone's fault but i understand why it is the way it is. humanity kills out of fear and god didn't find a way to reach to them.
my point is its one thing to say there is no god and not beleive it but its another to take it as an excuse to do whatever insanity we can think of and see just how far we can dig. it will still do us harm.

I know this is an old comment, but there are a lot of mythological butthurt gods. For example, when Zeus first created man, he did not give them fire. A minor god/human with powers sort of named Promethesus instead gave man fire after demonstrating to man how to cook meat over a fire and how to keep warm. Zeus saw fire on the earth being used daily, and Zeus got so butthurt he simply banished Promethesus to the Underworld to be tortured forever. Yikes.

This seems to be a common trait for gods in mythology. They are all butthurts with power and authority.
