Description Finished commission for Ysegrim and Angus.
I really enjoyed drawing this picture even though it was a lot of work *.*

Even though I live in a very beautiful area as well I wish I could drive where they are sitting to go for a hike. What an awesome view ^__^

Ysegrim and Angus are © by themselves

it looks like you spent more time on the background than the actual cahracters
...
but over all i like the way the wolf and the leopard look i like the deatil you have in the dawing
you can definatly tell that you enjoied drawing the background
i love the way the spots look on the leopard i can imagen the hard work you put into this and for that i think ytou should make your character stand out more not just the background i think if the caharacter would stand outmore your drawing would be very good and excellent e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

First of all, thank you for taking the time to write down a critique. I always appreciate that ^___^
And I think you're right. It is the problem Qzurr already descriped. I worked to much details into the background so the characters seem to vanish a bit ^^
I will try to lower the level of depth and detail in the background next time hoping the effort I put into the characters shows more then :3

i like the drawing but like i said the characters dont stand out its more like the whole drawing is the mountains and the wolf and leopard are just added to make it complete instead of it being reversed
its still way better than anything i ever done

I`m really glad to see your new artworks hun, because you proved alot in the last year : )
The only thing, what I noticed in some of your latest pictures, the background ( like mountain ) has same contrast, details, sometimes stronger than the characters. The mountains, or anz other objekt should be less detailed, and not so contrasted x) and won`t steal our focus from the characters.
I did it too some years ago, but I learnt much from other artists" tip when they explained it to me x)
There is some link, I hope helps a bit for you:

Nraaw, thank you so much for your thoughtful words hon :3 I really appreciate the help for improvements on my art!
I know what you mean and realized it after finishing this picture. But still I'm not totally sure how to change it.

I think I spent to much time trying to catch all the details from the background and in the end I overdid it... yes? I will try to keep working on this and play around more with everything

Welcome dear. :3

Could be hehe, try not draw hard the far objekts at the early picture. After some scan when you think the characters are finished, you can shot the best strong tones for the bg :3

Okis..... I will try to remember this next time :3
Is it the same for rooms btw? ö.ö Because objects in rooms are usually much more close?

Qzurr In reply to nelena [2011-03-08 20:59:46 +0000 UTC]

In rooms you must play more with the lights. But always the character who is focus, should get more attention. For rooms I need some practice too, been a while since my last one hehe.

You've done an amazing job on the background on this picture. It is well detailed, but your characters are still the focus of the picture. Great job!

Ugh, I wish I could write critiques, because this is a great picture. They look so content, and the colors and mood given off by it is really good.

(I'm also a sucker for gay couples )

I think I'll write you up a long critique in the comments section when I have more time. ^~^

Nraaw, vielen lieben Dank ^___^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Northildr In reply to nelena [2011-03-09 07:47:56 +0000 UTC]

Daher... Respekt XD!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nelena In reply to Northildr [2011-03-09 07:55:22 +0000 UTC]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Northildr In reply to nelena [2011-03-09 07:59:48 +0000 UTC]

Lol.

nelena In reply to Northildr [2011-03-09 08:05:16 +0000 UTC]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Northildr In reply to nelena [2011-03-09 08:28:12 +0000 UTC]
