Litten's favourite game.I started this awhile ago, when the starters came out, so excuse me for the slightly late
WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NEW STARTERS! NEW LEGENDARIES! NEW GAMES!
Anyway, I need help, my friends! Litten or Rowlet? (I never pick the water type
) I'm leaning towards Rowlet since Grass types are my favourite but Litten is so cute. Oh, and I used pencil crayons and pen.

I like the shiny sheen on their coats. It adds a beautiful amount of depth to the drawing. Guess I'll have to take some tips from your artwork. XD
I've always seemed to go with grass types, so let's just continue the trend and go with Rowlet~ The little ball of fluff is too cute for words!

I'm a little torn between the two, but I'm leaning towards Litten, as Luna said. I have a tendency to love all things black, and cats are just plain awesome. Plus, its official artwork's expression reminds me of myself in the morning. XD Rowlet is really cute too, though.
As for Sun vs. Moon, I'm really stuck. Both mascots look amazing.

Yeah, that is pretty cool. I've actually never thought about it this way before, but it's odd that the professors have offered you dinosaurs, dragons, alligators, monkeys, snakes, pigs, otters, frogs, foxes, and chipmunks as your first "pet" before they've offered you a cat. XD

XD That's an interesting way of looking at it. It seems like this time they took all the starters from animals that have appeared as a different Pokémon in almost all of the regions, like cats.

I'm sure they have something planned for each one that's never been seen before, whether its the designs of their evolutions or types. I personally think that Poplio is going to become a fairy type when it evolves, which isn't unique but would definitely differentiate it from Seel. The only owl we've seen before was Noctowl, which was based off some sort of owl with ear tufts, while I think Rowlet is based off a Grass Owl (which makes a lot of sense, considering its type XD). Those have distinctly heart-shaped faces and no ear tufts, which means it probably won't look much like Noctowl at all. Litten... well, I'm not sure what they're doing with Litten, but I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that black cats are considered good luck in Japanese culture, so they might incorporate that into it somehow.

I can't remember if that's the evolved or the basic Pokémon, but either way both are weird-looking. They're pretty creative, actually, but I can't get over having hands for faces. XD There's also Diggersby with hands for ears, which looks fairly creepy. What's with Gen. 6 and hand-inspired Pokémon?

XD Good point, they seem to have a thing for them. I'm not a Diggersby fan either; I didn't really like Bunnelby, but then I saw Diggersby, and in comparison it looked quite cute. :0

I didn't notice how strange its cry was until my friend started imitating it. XD
I think I like it not only because it looks nice but because it reminds me of some legend I heard when I was younger. I don't remember what it was exactly, but it had something to do with a rabbit and the moon.
I hope you don't mind that I'm cluttering your comments section with this conversation. It really doesn't have much to do with the art anymore. Oops.

It's kind of bothering me that I can't remember, but I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually. There was this book of mythological stories I read when I was younger, and I know I still have it, but I don't know where it is or even if that's where I read the story. I'll probably look for it once summer vacation comes around and I have more free time.

I know, same here. I'm almost fond of Diggersby now because its cry is so weird that it's funny, but the design isn't my favorite. Bunnelby is kind of cute after you see Diggersby. XD
Luna just reminded me about this, but I actually like shiny Diggersby a lot. For whatever reason, the white ears look really cool to me.

This is so adorable, and I love the title! 
I haven't decided which game I'm going to get, but although I love all of the starters, I'm pretty certain that I'll choose Popplio, because Hazel seems to be leaning towards Rowlet, and Blaze loves Litten. We don't always choose different starters, but I usually find it more fun when we do.
