Hey, I was wondering If I could do a recreation of your drawing Overseer? I always make sure to give the original post explicit credit, and link to the picture! I just want to recreate it in a kind of church glass look? This is sort of what It would come out as: beautiful-glass.deviantart.com… but not exactly. Thanks anyway!

Darkeye the Overseer: Early in King Sombra’s rule over the Crystal Empire, Sombra had attempted to use his magic to become an alicorn in hopes of overpowering the Two Sisters. He had a theory that if one was fed enough magic, it would eventually transform the pony into the alicorn state. To test this theory, he turned to his army of foot soldiers known as the shadow knights in search of a test subject. One knight under the name Darkeye was the only one willing to be used for his master’s plans. Sombra began feeding his own magic into Darkeye. At first, he gained the wings and horn, but as the procedure continued, things went horribly wrong. His grey coat turned a blood red, his mane and tail ignited into eternal red and purple flames, his wings took on a more demonic form, his horn became curved and menacing like his master, his eyes went missing and reappeared on his wings, and most of his torso was stripped of its skin revealing a coat of muscle illuminated purple from Sombra’s magic. Despite his deformities, Darkeye survived and did indeed possess more powerful magic as well as enhanced senses, but not enough to match an alicorn. Seeing it as not a complete failure, Sombra kept Darkeye alive. To reward his servant and make the most of his abilities, Darkeye was promoted to the chief taskmaster of all the crystal pony slaves in the empire and was given the title of “Darkeye the Overseer”. A new suit of armor for his body was forged for him; including a helmet that covered most of his face and armor to go on part of his wings to protect his new eyes. Slaves would mistake the eyes on his new wings as gems since they were surrounded by armor, so the helmet would make them think he was blind, but could easily spot trouble. The idea of a “blind” yet keen-sensed, highly powerful, and unspeakably cruel overseer made the crystal ponies even more intimidated to try any funny business under Darkeye’s watch.

I used this pic and his "Shade" character (should find him in the "more art by..." section) in a pic based on a fanfic I'm writing. It's done, but I'm still waiting on approval before it goes public. I'll send you the pic in a note. The description also contains a backstory for the "Shade" character and a few others!

I didn't see them at first either and thought they were gems until my girlfriend pointed them out. Look around the midsection of the wings. She said those purple things were the eyes.
