Sharpened, darkened a bit and dodged to get the sharp line we were looking for in the officers face.
Our interpetation of a Stasi interrogation. The uniform is a stasi uniform although the belt is not original.
Unfortunatelly a last minute change of location ideas made it impossible to follow the plan all the way. We planned on having a light hanging over the table, but it proved to hard to fix unfortunatelly. I think that would have added a lot to it.
I would love to do this again, and to improve the idea further, please let me know if you have any ideas

My first thought upon viewing this photo fell to WWII and to a certain Henry Oliver Rinnan. It sent chills down my spine.
The composition and the desperate feel of this is just outstanding. Lighting is perfect to make this look a grim and dark image for the world to see. You capture a scene so well that it is hard not to use superlatives. Even how you've hidden the officers face gives more mistory and more curiosity to the image.
The simple composition works so well with this image, and the dark makes it all the more powerful. You have made a work of art out of a frightening scene.

Thank you very much! The feeling of WWII and such is excatly what we were looking for, or maybe more of Stasi in Germany during the cold war. Inspiration is partly taken from old WWII films and from the film The Lives of Others (De andres liv). Im really glad you liked it and thank you for taking the time to write this!

Very cool, John. The wardrobe is the perfect touch to the entire photo, regardless of the light fixture. It reminds me a little of V for Vendetta only because the interrogator's face was also darkened.

I like it just the way it is. I like that shadowy threatening intimidating effect.
But I guess you'd make it work perfectly with the lamp!

Ganske enig i at lampen ville gitt et bedre trykk på hendelsen. Men på denne måten ble det en ny liten vri. Så det blir ikke feil, for det skaper en ny atmosfære rundt denne hendelsen.

I love the clearity and crispness of it-there isn't a single flaw. I do think however a light would have enhanced the drama-but under the circumstances I think it looks wonderful.

Bildet er i bunn og grunn sabla bra. Etter det jeg har hørt fra den tiden så kan det nok stemme godt. Det eneste som jeg føler demper litt av inntrykket er den der lampa som du nevnte i teksten, tror den hadde gjort susen for å legge litt mer trykk i bildet.

Tusen takk! Ja, lampa skulle virkelig vært der.. dessverre hadde jeg den ideen fra før jeg begynte shooten, så det irriterer meg så sinnsykt hver gang jeg ser bildet nå
