Finally!This is one of my two Nightmarepaintings. This one started as a sideproject two years ago and then I really started to hate it. I still don´t like it. This painting is the hardest, technically, that I ever painted.
I feel a bit sad that I didn´t put down more effort on the line art. There are some odd parts in it.
Still, there are some things that I like about this one and it´s not all that bad considering that the reference picture was long gone after two years.
The reason that I decided to finish this was that I discovered hyperrealism and was mesmerised. I could sell my soul to be able to paint like those amazing artists! This is not anything like that but its a step in that direction...or at least that´s what I like to think.

I like this, very expressive. i feel sad looking at it, this piece is good. i don't think you need to go hyperrealism, you already have a camera and your shots are good. you painted this really well no need for a hyperrealistic approach. good luck to you.

I think this is really, really well done. I love the way that the rust from the lock seems to almost be bleeding into the surrounding wood.
Makes me wonder what's inside, although it's probably nothing good if it's a nightmare related pic!

The idea is simple but made-up background messages can be intense. Just thinking about where this is, who it's owned by etc. can blow my mind.
