The two girls swiftly made their way to the clearing that Anne remembered. Sarah was still nervous, as always, but Anne didn't seem to be acting unusual anymore. As they walked she was even making casual conversation, discussing the beautiful natural surroundings of the forest. By the time they finally reached the spot, Sarah was practically at ease.

"So is this the place?" She asked as Anne came to a stop. The clearing was certainly calm and spacious, but it didn't really look as special as Anne seemed to be describing it. They would have plenty of room for a picnic, and the lighting would be nice to relax in the shade, but still Sarah felt like there was something wrong about this place -- something off.

"What do you think? Pretty nice, right?" said Anne, beaming. She had none of the misgivings of her friend, and to her, the clearing wasn't just a peaceful spot, but the absolute perfect place for the two of them to be. She wasn't even thinking about the picnic anymore, she just felt that for some reason the two of them would be very happy at this spot. She knew she was forgetting something, but every time she tried to remember, her mind would clear and the only unifying thought would return: 'you and Sarah will be happy here.'

"Well, it's okay, I guess," said Sarah. Anne was just so enthusiastic about this place that Sarah tried hard to push her worries to the back of her mind. Perhaps there was something here Anne saw that she didn't that would be revealed as they ate. "Should I go and get the food then?" She asked.

"Don't worry, my dear, the food hasss already arrived!" Kaa had been smelling the two of them as they approached and watching as they looked around the area. It required immense self-control to restrain himself from simply jumping out as soon as he caught sight of them. If he did that, they might run before he could start his hypnosis, and that would ruin everything. Instead, he waited until they were close and their backs were turned to the bush where he was hiding. That's when he made his move, eyes spiralling away.

The two girls gasped in surprise and turned to see the hungry snake's hypnotic face poking out of the bush.
