A good team if they use Defence in Depth like the IJA utilized at Peleliu, rather than banzai charges. Those tanks can't take many hits.

Sadly, most of the Chihatan tankery girls feel that doing banzai charges honours the samurai of old who did banzai charges and feel like doing otherwise is disrespectful to their memory. Tamada especially feels this way and verbally chewed out Fukuda for even suggesting that Chihatan use tactics other then banzai charges.Β

In the end though, Fukuda was right. I wonder if Tamada was told about how the French assaults in the summer of 1914 turned out.

Oh yeah, Fukuda was right but Tamada and many of the other Chihatan girls are stubborn as hell and seem to value honouring the samurai of old ahead of winning.
As for the French assaults in the summer of 1914, it wouldn't matter to Tamada. She'd still insist on using banzai charges but in the movie, Chihatan started to learn that using tricks, traps and ambushes can be effective too.
I was thinking that at one point, Chihatan had a practice match against BC Freedom and lost because they tried to banzai charge their forces only to get shot to pieces by them. Afterwards when the girls of the two schools interacted with each other, my two BC Freedom OC's Clarissa and Angelica chatted with Fukuda and suggested that Chihatan use different tactics which Fukuda was receptive to. Of course, Tamada overheard their conversation and shouted at Clarissa not to get Fukuda to dishonour the samurai of old. Being fiery herself, Clarissa told Tamada that Chihatan's banzai charges weren't working any better then the French assaults in the Summer of 1914 and that the samurai of old would be telling them to modify their tactics if they were around in the present. As you can imagine, the whole incident created an akward situation with Marie and Kinuyo having to calm them both down.
Later on of course, Clarissa and Tamada settled their differences and get along well with each other. Tamada was never angry at Angelica as Angie's too cute and caring to be mad at, LOL!

LOL thatβs a good idea. Perhaps BC Freedom and Chi Ha tan can work together in a match?

Thanks and yeah, that could work. I was thinking that BC Freedom and Chihatan would be in a tag match against Oarai and St Gloriana. The BC Freedom girls would have to keep Chihatan from doing banzai charges while Chihatan would have to keep the two subfactions in BC Freedom from fighting each other at the drop of a hat.Β
Also, I figured that having Oarai and St Gloriana working together would be a nice change of pace.Β

That could work. Maybe some of the infantry cadets crush on the Chi ha tan girls.

Yeah, I was thinking exactly that about the infantry boys. In fact, in the alternate history scenario where Chihatan is a all girls tankery division that takes part in the Malaya campaign in WW2 that the infantry boys of Chihatan are in the scenario, young Japanese soldiers who fight fiercely to protect their girls from British and Australian forces.Β

I hope they do not follow the ideology of the Imperial Japanese Army when it comes to prisoners of war or civilians.Β

Don't worry, they won't. The Chihatan girls believe in being humane to civilians and to prisoners of war because it's the honourable thing to do and because they see themselves not as conquerors but as liberators.Β
Also, the Japanese forces that seized Malaya and Singapore in this alternate scenario have been influenced by both Chihatan and by the moderates in Japanese society to be humane towards civilians and prisoners of war so things went smoothly in Malaya and Singapore. Finally, the Chihatan girls and their supporting infantry boys spent the rest of the war in Malaya and Singapore partly to help win over the populous and partly because the extremist elements of the Japanese government didn't want Chihatan's ideals "corrupting" the rest of the Imperial army.Β

They will have to deal with Colonel Masanobu Tsuji then.

Whose that? Some relative of Renta Tsuji?

Sort of, I think the creator based Renta off of him. He was a colonel in the Japanese army, in charge of intelligence. I read his memoirs for the Singapore campaign. He talked about the heroism of the Japanese soldier...he didn't mention the massacre at a hospital in Singapore before the city fell. I find it hard to believe that he was not aware of it given his rank.Β

In the alternate scenario, the massacre doesn't happen as the Japanese soldiers are professional enough not to do that while Colonel Tsuji gets reassigned to a different battlefront once Malaya and Singapore fall.Β
While the Japanese soldiers treat the natives well and a pro-Japanese government is set up to give the Malaysians autonomy and to show that the Japanese are actually liberators instead of just the latest conqueror, when a group of British soldiers who avoided capture try to kill the Chihatan girls while they're sleeping /but are stopped by the infantry boys assigned to give the Chihatan girls support before they can carry out their dark deed/, the surviving British soldiers in the group that tried to do the attack are dragged off and shot with the ringleader who said a number of unkind things about the Chihatan girls being used for bayonet practice.
I thought that up to show that even the "good guy" British had their demons in their ranks and that the infantry boys guarding and aiding the Chihatan girls take protecting them quite seriously and have their darker side to them. They won't harm/kill civilians of course but they don't take kindly to those who try to harm or kill the Chihatan girls. The Chihatan girls themselves also won't harm/kill civilians and frown upon it as they regard it as dishonourable and in fact, Tamada chewed out a Japanese soldier of the thug variety who tried to kill a British woman and her kids in Singapore. When the soldier scoffed and shoved Tamada before ranting about how non-Japanese are vermin, Tamada pulled out her samurai sword and threatened to kill him unless he left immediately which he did and was scared shitless. He died of malaria soon afterwards which Tamada regarded as the will of the Gods to punish him for his wretched conduct. She even befriended the British woman and kids and kept in touch with them.
Anyhow, this colonel in real life obviously knew about the massacre at the hospital but chose not to mention it in order to make Japanese soldiers look good. It seems that many Japanese soldiers committed war crimes of all types on a whim without orders from their superiors as they were raised and trained to believe that all non-Japanese were inferior plus thuggish behaviour was greatly encouraged by their superiors. It makes me glad that the Americans kicked their asses and put an end to Imperial Japan once and for all.Β

That can work. The British Empire wasn't above racism. I don't have examples during the British reign in Malaya and Singapore, but I would not be surprised. I think Chi-Ha Tan will encounter mostly Indian troops as they push down Malaya. What should happen to the team after the conclusion of the Singapore campaign?

The British in Malaya and Singapore were arrogant snobs who segregated themselves from the natives as much as possible. The group of British soldiers that tried to kill the Chihatan girls in their sleep regarded the Japanese as inferior to White Europeans and called them racist things like yellow monkeys that're barely Human and have buck teeth and thick glasses, the standard racial slur directed at the Japanese at the time. When the British soldiers lost, their pride was wounded so they opted to punish the Japanese by killing their beloved Chihatan girls which was a BIG mistake for them.Β
Yeah, Chihatan will encounter mostly Indian troops and will feel like they're at war with the Indians rather then the British at times. They'll also be displeased that the British seem to be using the Indians as meat shields and will be constantly trying to convince Indian troops to surrender or defect and join up with those Indian forces fighting alongside the Japanese.
Once the campaign concludes, the Chihatan girls will be garrisoned in the Malaya region for the rest of the war as serve as goodwill ambassadors to better relations between the Japanese and their new Malayan subjects as well as to keep them from "corrupting" other elements of the Japanese Imperial Army with their "improper" beliefs about being good to captives and treating subject peoples with respect and dignity. As a result, the Chihatan girls survived the war and when they returned to Japan, they helped with the construction and training of the Japanese Defence force. Thanks to them, relations between Japan and Malaysia and Singapore are pretty good unlike in real life.Β

That would be interesting to say. Chi Ha Tan should be careful...though the British didn't have tanks, they had some AT guns.Β
That would be nice for them to all live.

Don't worry, they had a lot of tankery training before the Pearl Harbour attack and took part in army practice in Indochina which the Japanese occupied after France fell in 1940 if you remember. As a result, they knew what to expect and only did banzai charges if ordered to do so and picked their spots quite well.Β
There were some close calls but yeah, all the Chihatan girls lived through the war.Β

They will actually and they'll respect the Australian troops for their hard fought performance during the Malaya campaign and vice versa. Chihatan will feel bad for the Australian troops for being ignored and neglected by the British as they can sympathize with their plight and they know that many of the higher ups in Tokyo frown upon Chihatan's more moderate beliefs on how the war should be fought if it must be fought.Β

Yeah, so do I. Chihatan are cute, cheerful, energetic, friendly, caring and hardworking. Of course, they've got a bad habit of doing banzai charges at their enemies too often which is why they keep losing.Β
