A wolf that I adopted fromI acturally took a whiel on this one.. she's a char for my story spirit life I've been working on! she's a wolf you'll meet (if you haven't already) in chapter two!

ya, I love messing with the lighting, makes every think look so much better...
okay (hmm...then should be fun) I use this program called gimp (ever herd of it?) and I make a layer over the pic (just the wolf and the BG) and make that layer compleatly black. then over on the bar where it lists the layers, on the verry top of that is sais opacity. bring that down a littel bit. Now the pic should be alot darker. then you take the earaser tool. (here comes the fun part of getting it just right XD) you click the box next to apply gitter. click the top arrow on that and keep holding it until it won't go up any more (this should make it 50.0) now play around and drag the size of the earaser back and forth and keep testing in until it dosen't go every where (is should stay practly in the same spot, like the spray paint can in MS paint) then once you place the lighing in the direction you want, (by makeing a semi thick line across the black layer) you take the smudge tool and smudge away at the tiny specks you've made.. then finally, mess around with the opacity on that layer until it looks right. ^^
