It is true that everyone has their own tastes and that they can do whatever they want, as artists. I respect that. I understand what you're saying too. Me, personally, I love this. Not because they are sexy or whatever but I like the twist on this piece of art. The characters are cute too. CUTE. I don't necessarily see them as sexy. I do admire this work but just differently. A lot of people come here and like this because they can see boobs and ass. This is obviously super sexy to many people but it just makes me a little sad that people can only see this as a lustful piece of work instead of something beautiful. If this piece of art is offensive to you, I can also understand why.

Relly love this piece! An interesting and fun idea.
However, despite this quite clearly taking a great deal of time, effort, and care, it seems that some people are too easily offended by it. I find myself asking why. Now I realise that thier 'concern' is that the characters depicted were, supposedly, men. C-3PO was male, albeit rather camp. Still, we generally got the idea good ol' Threepio was a male. As for R2-D2, I guess that is subjective. Male, female or genderless, that is completely up to you since you take away from Star Wars what you like. And I base their gender on the voice used. Droids are just droids.
Now popular characters are gender bent all of the time. It isn't anything new, and like this picture, some of them are startling in their accuracy. But that doesn't stop some - let's call them knee jerk reactionists - from hopping onto their keyboards and disregarding any effort put in, purely for the sake of the fact that their 'beloved' characters suddenly don't adhere to their idea of what Star Wars should be.
I have been an avid fan of the Star Wars franchise for years. I collected completed the tazo set and watched the original trilogy pretty much daily when I was a kid, and yet I was never aware that there was this apparently unwritten rule that nobody is allowed to create a piece of art that is different to the source material. To expect everyone to appreciate the movies exactly the same way you do with no deviation just makes you incredibly selfish and stuck-up. Imagine if Disney announced that they were remaking all of the original films, but with Jar Jar taking the role of Vader because Disney thinks that is how you should appreciate it. My God, I don't think the internet could handle the backlash! The people here certainly wouldn't be pleased.
Take MLP. Though I am not a bronie, I have it on good authority that the FEMALE ponies were made male at some point, and were even made a completely different species, and yet that was received very well. That is an even bigger leap than this! But I think I know why that might be different to what I am talking about here.
It's the breasts, isn't it. The boobs, gazungas, tatas, funbags. Whatever you want to call them. Grow. Up. The sheer fact people see this as 'oversexualised' is laughable and immature. What about the lighting? The shading? The composition? How about the intricate detail? The accuracy? No? It really is just the boobs then? Don't you think that it is ironic that those who whinge about this being a disgrace are the ones who are focusing on one aspect of the picture? I do.
If it is just because the droids didn't look like that in the movies, so what? If it is because they are female, so what? One person mentioned that their 'childhood is ruined'. A clear exaggeration, but a comment that I think is still telling of their knee jerk reactionist point of view. To be honest, if all it takes to 'ruin your childhood' is this picture, I am sorry to say that you didn't have much of a childhood to begin with. That might seem rude, but the idea of manners didn't stop you from making a disrespectful comment. Hurts, doesn't it.
A majority of the comments are appreciative of this piece, others are...typical..., but there is no harm in appreciating this. Take it as a bit of fun that was created by someone who is clearly a very talented individual. Keep up the great work! Look forward to seeing more of your work!
