thank you for understanding. As as black girl, it's painful and hurtful seeing characters that look like me whitewashed or attacked by fans. we are constantly being bombarded with messages that we aren't good enough and are lesser, and not meant to be main characters or heroes. only the presence of black people is questioned in fiction and fantasy, never the presence of whites. its exhausting, like we aren't allowed to exist in both real life and fiction in peace.

The artist literally has drawn dark skinned characters as early as 2006 if you actually browsed their gallery. Some Overwatch, a dark elf, just to name a few.
I looked up the black panther fanart. And to be honest, people are overreacting. All I see is a light skin. If he actually intended to whitewash he would have just made her paler and drawn either blue or green eyes.

If you've never been black or you're not black you would not understand how it feels to be whitewashed all the time without even knowing it because that's what we have to go through every day and we always have to fight for what we believe in and what we want we still need a quality here in the United States just because we don't have it still even though it's free or whatever it's not if you're not a part of the white community

Dark skin does not mean Black. He has never drawn a Black character and Black Panther was whitewashed, not "light skin". Cut the bullshit.

Yeah being Brown and being African-American or black is a whole different thing he's from Asia so there is going to be a lot of brown Asians but there's a difference between brown Asian and African Americans we're talking about a black comic book character whose purpose was for black people emphasis on for black people so being Brown Asian doesn't mean he's a part of the black community

This reply is quite insensitive, , If someone’s upset by the way you’ve drawn something and the reason is justifiable then the professional way to react is to reply, apologise and say you’ll do better next time- even better, edit the artwork to avoid anymore controversy which neo has avoided doing.)
The whole "I dRAW wHaT I WANt aRGUeMeNt" is so lazy and overused. Looking at the artwork they’re referring to it is definitely whitewashed, the actor of black panther is a black man, yet the female ver shows a light skinned female with a small Eurocentric nose and thin lips, That is whitewashing and the fact that people are defending it is gross.
