I think the Grinch is the only Christmas program with an actual moral (the true meaning of Christmas). The rest are just to reinforce the fact of Santa's existence (and also to make money).

Awe, I like Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas, too.
Though, that's probably because the sequel is a bit of an eyesore (2D is tradition!) and Kelsey Grammer is a wonderful narrator.

LOL, that's totally true! I love specials like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and The Year Without a Santa Claus, but it always annoys me when TV specials (even ones I love) press that message that "if Santa can't make his deliveries, there's NO CHRISTMAS!!".

I like the Ren and Stimpy Yakmas special.Β It's so mad, and takes the mickey out of Christmas specials.Β The Star Trek Christmas Carol depicted on the Simpsons was good too - "It showed me my future!Β Oh god, I'm so fat!"

And that's why we don't watch TV-specials anymore: the one third of Christmas film's are new editions of "Christmas Carol", the other third are these specials mentioned in panel 2. The last third contains of several little specials, which are either terrificly bad like "The Christmas Tree" or pretty good, but not often broadcast on TV.

Haha nice, my favourite Christmas movies (the ones I make a point of watching at least once come November/December) are Rudolph, Home Alone and Gremlins. And yeah Elf is up there cause it's one of the only Will Ferrell movies I don't mind.
