The story behind Hexus "Hex" is that when she was first created she wasn't apart of a story she just existed as an outlet to say " I'm awesome no matter what and if you don't like it tough!" As time moved forward i found that the different versions of her started to have a persona of their own. Still tough, yet more loving. When she was placed into a story she remained confident most of the time but then slowly other factors began to make her wavier family, love, friends, death, rape, etc...
As a central story arch Hex's unwavering confidence, love, trust in people tends to be her greatest strength and weakness. ( Please note: she will still kick your ass though if you piss her off)
I continue to use Hexus as an outlet for trying out different styles in art, but it is her character that fascinates me to this day. I put her through so much and without even writing what's next, I know her well enough to know how she will deal with whatever i place in front of her. She tells me what i should write and draw.
I urge every artist to have the same connection with their work, as corny as this may sound, trust your talent.

Hexus looks really stylish in this picture; the pose is excellent, and I love the composition and the glowing colors.
It's also good to learn more about her origins as a character. It's great that you have such a strong connection with your creations - the description which you've included with this picture was really uplifting to read!

She is still my work in progress, but i guess that's what he all are. She and I are going through one hell of a time in life right now.
There is a video of my coloring process for her. I realize everyone eventually gets a tan in my art so i really need to stop that lol but she is the exception. But i was really inspired to work on something with her and the " draw it again" movement was a great trigger. I'm going to start updating all my NTNB characters as a draw this again thing. To tell you the truth she has a lot of your spirit imbued into her character. I think about you a lot when I work on Hex. As for her look I did a lot of changes to her over the years but I ended up being drawn to a mixture of Serinda Swan and Alyssa Milano not by choice as it were, just where she led me.

I'd certainly love to see more pictures of Hexus and your other characters (is she still part of the same universe as before? Your description makes it sound like she moves around a lot in your imagination...)
I've hardly done any drawing at all these last few years, but I'd really like to create more pictures of my own characters. I think I should make 'draw more' one of my New Year Resolutions!
