It was! I ended up really liking the idea, don't worry though yours is one of a kind in itself, I'll just make it a new species!! If that annoys you we could talk about it tho ;v;

I bought it because it seemed to be a one-off design that I could do anything with, including making it a species myself :/ 
It doesn't seem like we should both make species off the same thing, so probably for the best is either that you could refund me and resell the images then do whatever you want with them or leave them as a one-off design.
You might need some Terms of Service going forward xD

Aaa sorry if i seem rude, but it seems kinda unfair if you decide to make a species out of an adopt i made?
I'm not exactly a lawyer or anything but that doesn't seem to be quite nice!
I'm actually really lenient with changing the design of adopts unlike most people,
but making duplicates in a sense sounds a bit much??

Sorry I'm just rambling! If you want, I could make you a different custom adopt instead of that one,
if i do that will it be okay with you if I made them into a species? ;; If not, I'd be alright with giving you a refund.
I just feel bad for taking away the individuality of the adopt from you.

So, most artists list an adopt as either a closed-species, an open-species or a one-off design. Most also have additional rules or Terms of Service (ToS) about what you can and can't do with a design. For example I've seen an artist list a design as a 'one-off, but intended to be an OC and cannot be made into a species' and I've seen artist who are like 'one-off design, do whatever you want with it' and things like 'one-off design- you own the rights to the this specific character, but not the overall design or image'.

I tend to only buy adopts that I have the full rights too. In case I want to write a children's book about them or make a species or whatever. When you listed it as a one-off without any additional specifications it definitely comes across as a one-off design that the buyer would own full rights too.

I'll just take a refund at this point since I can't 'own' the design. I would suggest more clarification on your adopts going forward! Best of luck!
