Watercolor, 2016. Los Angeles, United States.No matter how hard we work to master nature we need to remember that all of these lights and buildings stand here only with permission from nature. We only manage to create a thin layer of cosmetics and wilderness is always right behind it all and us all always.

Thank you! Yes, I actually was a bit frustrated when I realized the amount of windows and lights to paint, but I got through it and had a great time doing it. It was something meditative in making all the details I'm really glad you like it!

Did you use some kind of masking fluid? Or just painted with extra care and patience? Maybe a little bit of both? (If it's ok to tell the world of course

Hi! Actually i only used "care and patience" to paint the skyline/houses, but I used som masking fluid for part of the roads and some lights in the foreground. However, I'm not sure that the masking was actually needed since I didn't keep to the initial plan with a more "blurry" foreground. Instead I painted also this part with details, so the masking actually became an obstacle instead of being useful. I had to remove most of it before and during the painting, which is not really the idea with it, right . And thank you!!

Yes, there's a lot of colors in my night time paintings and frankly speaking I don't know exactly where they all come from However, I love to walk through colorful city nights and I guess that is reflected in my paintings. Hi! Thanks a lot! Yes, I wanted to capture a feeling that the skyline is just a thin scenery in front of the wild nature. A difficult part of the painting was to try to capture the sunset light in the skyline but yet also get the feeling of neon nightlight. I'm really glad you noticed this
