We only manage to create a thin layer of cosmetics and wilderness is always right behind it all and us all always.

Hi Eliana! I'm so happy you like it! This painting is really special to me. It was difficult to do (almost gave up) and I really wanted to create good contrast between light/dark, city/wilderness and big/small. Especially it feels so nice that you've spent time and energy to think about it! Yes, I think if we could remember that we are here because of nature and because of each other, we would be kinder and care much more about the world and people around us! Then maybe your fantastic, but sad, post-apocalypse paintings will not come true! 😉 Thanks for your nice words and take care! ❤️❤️❤️

One can really see that you spent a lot of thought and time on the contrast, it came out stunning! It really brings out the contrast of city - full of light, human life, and thoroughly structured - and the wilderness beyond, not penetrated by the light or clear lines but towering over the city.
I agree, remembering that would really make the world a much better place. I do hope that we come to our senses before we plunge into the apocalypse! As much as I like drawing it, in the end, I think I would not want to live there.

Personally I like landscapes with cities. Especially modern cities...probably because they aren't in traditional art that I've studied in highschool.
