that magenta-ish color in the middle looks wrong though

Well, if you don't need those flames anymore - give them to meeee ...
What do you mean with wrong color? Guess, if I set the gradient a bit more to to left or right, the complete flame would get worse ...

well if color/symmetry/gradient tweaking doesnt help... you can just re-color it in "post-work"

Postprocess render? Never used it before ... :shy: Or what is "post-work"? I simply adjust the colors in photoshop ...
