I knocked on the door to the throne room in the castle of the has-been king of the Ghost Zone Pariah Dark, the most powerful and the most feared in the entire Ghost Zone. I heard a deep, rich voice call out from across the room, "Where is my precious rose?" I pulled my skirts up and walked gracefully in as the Royal Guardsmen bowed respectfully to me and allowed me in as Adviser Vlad gave me a differntial bow to me. I bowed in return. He nodded politely at me as he said kindly, "Good morning princess. How have you been these past few days? Your father has been most anxious to see you." "Thank you Vlad. Carry on with your duties."I replied in a friendly tone. Vladimir walked out of the throne room, laughing softly. I reminded him of himself when he was younger like me. As I entered the magnificient throne room where the king's throne awaited I looked around marveling at the sheer imensity of the throne room and the entire castle. When I got closer to the throne where the king himself sat in his chair looking thoughtful, he noticed me and beckoned me to come closer. "Did you want to see me this morning father?" I asked. He nodded and invited me to sit on his lap. Dan always called me his beautiful rose, rose of the sun, and precious rose out of the fatherly love he had deep within his heart. When Dan Phantom first found me all alone, it saddened him deeply. At first I was terribly afraid that he would phscyially hurt me, but he proved to be a very protective and proud father. When I was a little girl, I used to have terrible nightmares about being abused by my human family. When the nightmares ended, I usually woke up crying in the middle of the night, but Father always came in and held me in his arms and comforted me and gave my face a gentle caress and wiped my tears and let me listen to the soothing thump thump- of his heart. "Come my dear, come for a walk in the rose garden with me. We have a lot to talk about." I considered. I always loved going for walks with father in the gardens, but the rose garden was my personal faveroite because it had so many beautiful roses from all over the world. When there were others around, Father was usually stern, but when we were alone, he showed his warm side to no one else but me. He held out his hand and i took hold of it, walking into the quiet morning into the garden. I told him about the nightmares that had been bothering me for the last few days. Father listened to what i had to say and hugged me close, murmuring "Don't worry rose of my heart, you'll never be tortured by such nightmares ever again because we have Sir Nocturn." I picked a few particularly gorgeous roses that were in full bloom to give to him. He nodded in approval and gave me some flowers in return. We walked the grounds in silence, enjoying the peaceful morning. Father stopped near a burrow and held up his hand, instructing me to stay quiet. We heard a little kitten mewing, jumping and frolicing around playfully. I saw the Mother cat as she came out of the woods, sniffed us both and nuzzled against Father's leg, asking him to stroke her soft fur. He gently scratched her between the ears and stroked her soft undefur. Then she came and butted my hand in affection. She mewed at her kittens and started to play with the little balls of fur. We watched, laughing as the kittens bit and played with one another and with Momma Cat. We walked on, making certain to not disturb a Mother Bird on her nest. As we walked back to the castle, Father asked gently, "What is wrong precious rose? You look like something is really bothering you. I can feel it." I glanced up at his concerned expression and sighed "I was having a horrible nightmare about you Father. I cannot remember exactly what it was about, but it felt so real. You had abandoned me in the middle of the forest and i called and called for you to come back, but you never even glanced back." Father was clearly shocked and hugged me tightly, shielding me from all harm and he murmured "I had no idea, dear. Come closer and lay your're ear on my chest and listen to the every beat of my heart. Close you're eyes and let it calm your troubled mind. I'll take you back in and you can snuggle against me with your ear on my chest, listening to the gentle beats of my heart." "Thank you Father." Dan looked very touched and he felt tears of joy in his eyes as he hugged me gently. "Do not worry, Rose of the Sun, I'll make certain no harm nor evil will ever harm thee, Rose of my Soul."
