Every now and again, I just get some random thoughts, ideas and run across something that connects to them. Coincidence? Maybe, but I am really starting to come around to the ideas of Fra Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. Teilhard wrote a number of scientific and philosophical works, but for me, there are two that are outstanding, comprehensive works, The Phenomenon of Man and The Divine Milieu. Really suggest you want to read them, absolutely inspiring and so full of hope for the future. That is a future without Trump and the Republicans, I suggest

Treating children badly is a staple of absolutist thought. No matter what inspires that absolutism, political or religious beliefs, it is always the children who suffer most.

Republicans are stumbling out with their plans for a Trump Presidency and guess what? They are fully in line with the Project 2025 "policies" for creating a nightmare dictatorship. Well, that is if you support that kind of thing.

Inflation is fed by increasing both wages and money supply, according to traditional economic theories. Unfortunately, this falls apart when looking at the last two bouts of inflation, the stagflation of the GFC and the current inflation. Wages have stagnated and money supply is being kept down as an aftereffect of the Pandemic. At this latest round of announcements Big Business are boasting of record profits. So I wonder where the drivers of inflation are coming from today?

Neil Gaiman and Stephen Fry are both witty, highly observant, creative people, well worth listening to.
