there's four elements to this... three seperate Apophysis renders, plus a colourful abstract design done in Photoshop... all four elements were merged/blended/masked/resized together in Photoshop... hope you like... comments greatly appreciatedRelated content

This is absolutely stunning! I love the gorgeous colors. This is probably the most beautiful work I have yet to see on deviantART. The lighting, the spheres, the rays, the pattern. There's way too much to say about this wonderific piece. You are a true, outstanding, magnificent artist.

It's really nice, it must have taken you a lot of work to do! Although it's not really my tipe, it's too modern for me. But for modern lovers, this must be amazing work.

the texture in the background really adds a lot to the hand-made looking quality of this piece. Really nice composition and I like the many different colors used throughout.

It looks like everything surrounding the eye is collapsing and getting sucked in the center, as if it were a black hole. The balls could be planets that are sucked into the black vortex... that has something bright in the center. That was almost the first thing that came to my mind when looking at it.

well, okay, I can, but there's just so many details in this one. It's so dark in the eye-region and so happy-pastel-pink in the outside...
Anyway, it's really nice. It kinda goes through this transition from past (outside edges resemble one of those old photographs) to future, with the blackness being the present.
Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but it's just my interpretation.

I certainly like it. My only critique is that the object in the center is much more defined and crisp than the rest as a whole, and looks a bit out of place due to that.

I like the colors and the clarity of the main design. I don't think the blending//noise filter add anything to the piece itself. Maybe it would have been less noticeable if the smaller eyes were clear and in focus?

It is good, i like it, but I have a problem with some of the noise - it doesn't suit the clean surface of the central object for some reason. And one question: what is it besides being "an eye abstract"? It represents the eye, but what is the implication? How do you feel about the eye? Does it hate the world around it? Does it care at all? For an abstract work, you need to have an idea/emotion to convey. I cannot see either in this piece. Still, you've done OK here on a technical level, just keep on working.

thank you for the feedback... i prefer the 'subjective' aspect of abstract art, not wanting to force impressions on the viewer but rather teasing the observer with shapes/colour/partly recognisable forms so that he/she may form personal opinions and feelings about the work from within... the same work might mean different things to different viewers

Oh, just wondered...you've been a member for a relatively long time. I think we all have to take breaks once in a while. I've slowed down submitting a bit. At first uploaded a whole bunch of stuff, some good some not so, just to get my gallery started. Now I'm moving a lot of it to "Scraps". But since I work with several Fractal programs I still add a lot to my gallery. Been cleaning out my comp files and storing stuff here.

That's a very good abstract immage. Normally you don't know what it is until you see the name, but the first thing I thought it was, was an eye. I'd give ya 7/10
