A psycadelic fish, said someone.
Yes, I think the same, even before reading the comments.
I like it, very much.

This is quite amazing. I love the pattern, to bad it is not more visible. But this is still a fav

very nice I think that it would be great if you got into ultra fractal so you could tweak colors in a more custom way. But the pattern is very good.

Gorgeous render! It does look like a strange, magic fish. It reminds me of jellyfish I've seen glowing in the dark by the millions, all flickering their lights at once.

Wow, really nic use of fractals. I really like the variety of color here. Most fractal images tend to be one color or get too busy with a couple, but this one really works pretty well.

Like a creature that's struggling in a net of its own flesh. The colours and textures make my teeth ache for pulled taffy and turkish delight. Beautiful.

thanks a million... this is actually not that difficult to do. The trick was to render just the one crater and surrounding pattern then repeat it in PS7… you should be able to make something similar to one of these individual crater-like designs quite easily in Apophysis... play around with the Spiral Batch 2 script and see what you get... so here's what i did:
1. rendered a single large crater with surrounding pattern (soft colour) in Apophysis and then exported the flame with a transparent background
2. imported the flame into PS7... copied the flame several times and resized them variously to fill the canvas
3. flattened the image (save an unflattened copy for yourself first)
3. created a layer beneath the flattened one and filled it with various pastel colours using a large soft edged brush
4. changed the blending mode of the craters layer to overlay (70%) to bring the colours through
5. flattened work
6. slight sharpening
7. framed
hope that helps somewhat
