Description
Here is Arae'em, horrified that the forest he loves is being and destroyed by the humans. He's already been shot by some trigger happy fool, and doesn't know how badly he is injured.I really wanted to try a shot at emotion, and harsh lighting. Let me know how I did?
Arae'em is mine, don't steal him.

I love the bright highlights from the fire. I just finished a pic with sharp contrast and higlights and I know how difficult it is. The colours really help to give the pic a tense atmosphere. Poor thing. >:

I would suggest more stress lines in the face (especially around the brows), and, like someone said, wider eyes. I personally don't think the mouth necessarily has to be open more since faces have a huge range fo motion.
Also, I'd suggest making his pupils smaller. Since he's looking at something bright like a fire, it'd follow, and also would make his expression more dramatic.
The lighting's great though, very dramatic. I really like the way the hair's done--it's simple but effective.

You did really well with the lighting in this piece. The contrasting colors are so, so lovely. My inner color wheel is squee-ing.
But as someone commented earlier he doesn't look so much horrified as sad. I think horror would be best portrayed by a larger mouth (not quite gaping, but open wide in utter disbelief or shock) and wider eyes (if that's possible).

AWESOME!!! I love the coloring and all! But like the other guy, I don't think the blood works, he would probably be wincing from terrible pain if he had been hit from the fire, the pain would have shown in his face much more clearly.

The expression is great but I think it looks more like he's just sad. Maybe you should try to make the eyes "pop out" a little bit more to give more the impression that he really is horrified.
But there's one thing that really "bothers" me in this pic... The blood. I think that the blood you did doesn't really fit with the style of the draw itself. Maybe you should try to follow a bit more his skin because it really looks more like a stain in the draw.
But the pic is great I really love it!

lovely just lovely. I love the lighting and the colors you used. The shading is wonderful! brings the picture to life. the emotion emits itself from your work because I can feel alot of emotion from this. I so want to see this movie as well ^_^ once again Great job!
