A couple weeks ago, I had one of those dreams that plays out as if you were watching a movie.

Apparantly there had been a final war catapulting the world into a nuclear winter. People were forced to leave their homes to find more habitable places (joke's on them: there are none!). In the rush, many jails and prisons were left abandoned, the prisoners trapped inside. 100 prisoners managed to escape from one particular building, but they still had no place to go.

They wandered for an indefinite amount of time, days perhaps, until three strange figures appeared over a hill. They were very large, about the size of horses, and they had fearsome, red eyes. Their yellowed teeth had blood stains on them, and drool steadily dripped off their lips. They were three monstrous dogs, only called War, Famine, and Pestilence.

The three creatures stared intently at the herd of prisoners, stumpy tails turning like high-speed windmills behind their massive bodies. They were like puppies being handed treats.

None of the prisoners made a move. Suddenly, the three dogs rushed from the hill and began to slaughter the prisoners. They ran circles around the panicking herd. They were playing with their food, ripping flesh from bone and tossing it in the air. Terrified screams were muffled as their faces were crushed by heavy paws. Excited yips filled the air.

But soon, the monsters grew bored and trotted off, tails still wagging. Their paws and faces were smothered with blood. Out of 100 prisoners, only 47 survived. They did not know whether or not to consider themselves lucky to be spared. What other horrifying creatures awaited? And even if heaven spared them these encounters, how long would they last on a now inhabitable planet?

I believe the best part about this dream is that a certain song was playing in the background as the dogs ate the prisoners: 'Breakfast Machine' by Danny Elfman (listen here - [link] if you can't recognize the title). I usually don't bother interpreting dreams, but I think this one is basically making a mockery of life, that humanity is a joke.

*shrugs* Eh, anyway, I just wanted to draw War, War's my favourite. Famine looks like a starved doberman, and Pestilence is a rotting bulldog.
