In an amazing turn of events, the painting was returned with an apology.

UPDATE:
The original painting has been stolen, right off the wall of my art show in Brooklyn, NYC.
Im in shock. It wasn’t for sale I never wanted money. I made it for me & turned down many offers.

Wow I juse read all the captioning on this piece. So glad you got it back!!! My heart fell through my chest when I heard some art pieces had been stolen from Beetlehouse LA after having my artwork selected to be on display there. Thank god my piece was not one of them but I felt aweful for the people's whose work was taken.

I did what I figured the original 'designer' of the shirt did, a DeviantArt search for Pee Wee Herman. The other two Pee-Wees used on the shirt are also here somewhere, and I contacted them as well.

No, but a friend of mine had a drawing of a Dalek swiped for one of their t-shirts. He sent them an invoice for use of his art and they removed it pretty quickly.
