Description
This is an Italian mech that hearkens back stylistically to the age of the Roman Empire. It is an effective defensive mech with heavy armor plating and, despite its name, generally a large beam spear designed to attack from a safer distance. Though, unlike many mass-produced basic mechs, it lacks a shield its heavy armor enables it to survive many attacks without a need to adopt defensive postures. Thus, it can attack an opponent with little worry of being destroyed in a counterattack. However, the armor is generally effective only in defending against conventional weapons. Though these units initially easily repelled a French invasion force of mechs armed largely with machine guns, when the French began to arm their units with beam rifles the unit was found to be ineffective. Unable to either withstand an attack from a beam weapon nor dodge it due to its bulk, France was able to expand into much of western Italy.

These units also carry weapons in storage on their backpack, including an Uzi-like machine gun and either additional ammunition or a small beam sword.
