This is a revision of a character I drew a really, really, really, REALLY long time ago:
Wow. That was 5 years ago. O_O

I've avoided drawing this character for so long because she's very near and dear to my heart.

I've decided to name her Annabelle. My idea for her remains the same, if not, slightly modified:

I believe that when we're born, we're assigned a guardian angel. Someone who watches over us throughout our lives, without being seen or heard. For the longest time, I've always imagined my guardian angel as a girl. A young woman who retains an enternal beauty. I imagine her somewhat similar to this picture; Her skin and hair being a bright, snowy white, wearing a clean white robe with fine threads with patterned blue lining with matching sandals. Her body, lean and graceful, illuminating a pure, calming light, with wings of clean white feathers like that of a dove, and a bright, glowing halo suspended over her head. Sometimes, I feel like she watches me when I feel depressed or extremely upset about something. I feel she has concern for me, as do every other guardian. I feel she's the only one who understands me and what I'm going through.

This piece in particular chronolizes what I'd imagine it'd be like to spend quality time with Annabelle. This version of Annabelle is definitely the most accurtate depiction to what I initially envisioned her to look like. Back when I was in high school, I was very shy and had very low self-esteem. It was a very dark, stressful, and awkward time for me. I also wasn't very good at making friends. Daydreaming myself with her during those times always helped comfort me and reignite my self-confidence.

This is by far one of my most personal submissions to DA. This character is something I've carried with me for a very long time. I don't expect anyone to fully understand my relationship with her. But she'll always have a very special place in my heart.
