This is a parody of the poster for the animated French film "Persepolis" based on the graphic novel by the same name: [link]The AT episode "Simon and Marcy" got me inspired to draw this.
Everything you see here was colored in with pen and marker. I never thought I'd use so much ink in one sitting.

What exactly are the main things that you adored in Persepolis?Β

Definitely the animation. I liked how simple, but bold and expressive it could be at times. But I also liked how grounded in reality it was a majority of the time and how it doesn't shy away from the horrors of the given situations Marjane has to face.

Oh, okay. I thought the graphic novel was good, but I think I like the movie version a little more. While the bookΒ goes into greater detail, the film version helpsΒ condense things intoΒ more of a moreΒ fluent narrative.
