Description
I'm still on a dinosaur kick, recently. Plus, with Thanksgiving right around the corner, I thought I'd celebrate it by drawing something fun and stupid . . . A turkey as a tyrannosaur.Years ago, I remember watching a dinosaur documentary talking about how scientists could, potentially, biologically engineer a dinosaur by injecting hormones into chicken embryos to give them teeth, enhanced forelimbs, and a longer tail and, basically, create an artificial dinosaur ala Jurassic World (2015) (I saw this on TV years before Jurassic World, btw). Remembering that, I came up with the idea for this thing. lol
This design was also inspired by Fang from Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

To be fair, there isn't any evidence against the possibility that large theropods didn't have display features on their faces and necks. For all we know, T-Rex and other large theropods could have had wattles like modern day turkeys!
Sadly, soft tissue is very, very rare with dinosaurs.

All the dino fans are mad that scientists are claiming dinosaurs were feathered, but I can guarantee that they'll meme the shit out of this.

(Pulls out gun.) So am I the only Dino fan around here that can imagine T-Rex being scary with feathers?!
All joking aside though, when I think of feathered T-Rex, for some reason I don't see it being completely covered in feathers. More around the neck and head area, kinda like a Lions mane. And they'd be kinda primitive proto-feathers like a quill. Almost what we would consider coarse fur.Β

Really?
I'd imagined them having a coat of feathers like most birds, above their scales.

Mostly based on theory of where they lived tbh.Β
Unless I'm hilariously mistaken, this is an animal that lived in a hot, humid environment akin to the tropics. So why does it need a thick insulating layer? (Unless there are BIG differences between how fur and feathers absorb heat.)Β

Hmm, that does make sense.
Nonetheless, I think it'd be impossible to try and hunt this Turkeysaurus.
