I wanted to do something a bit more SciFi and this is the result of that. A long range taser rifle if you will.

The idea is that it's not using bullets, but a electrically charged gel as ammunition. The barrel is actually a flexible tube, that changes the properties of the gel, depending on it's width and length.

When the barrel is long and thin (SMG mode), the shots are shaped like needles. Up to 250 meters, they can penetrate armor easily and even if the hits themselves happen to not hit vital areas, they would still shock the target.

Switching to the 2nd mode, the barrel becomes more wide. This has the effect that the shots behave more like blobs of paint. They travel slower and with a noticable arc. This is usefull to saturate a wide area with the gel. Excellent for crowd control.
