Who cares if no one ever calls me beautiful
Who cares if I'm never asked to dance
Hell I don't even know how to dance anyway
I don't care how the world sees me
I only care how I see me
And I think there's nothing wrong with the girl in the mirror
Sure she doesn't smile much but that's cause she's going through hell
Her face may look plain without any make-up
But that's just the way I like it
An old pair of jeans
The first t-shirt could find
My hair in a braid
I'm ready to go
To where no one cares just what I look like
Least of all me
It's a barn full of horses
That's where I choose to spend my days
Where no one cares about what I wear
Where I never have to hear "I'd be pretty if I'd just..."

Look, I agree with the message, I think it's wonderful and true, but... this is basically just a rant broken into stanzas, bereft of stylistic elements like allegory and a rhyming meter. "Free verse" doesn't mean you don't have to add anything artistic to it. Try to be more subtle with the message next time, and don't be afraid to proof-read and revise.

the message is true enough, but it could've been stylised better. This just looks like you bashed it out in under a minute.
I'm talking about revising it before you post and including stuff like rhythm, rhyme, metaphor, stanza, not telling but showing, stuff like that. Things like the aforementioned would make this poem more striking and less like a sloppily written rant.

I agee with the make-up thing. It hides what we really look like and we are pretty much wearing a lie on our faces. But I will admit that on the rare days when I do wear it, I do feel a little better about myself, even though I know that's not really me.

But the first line is bothering me even more. It's difficult to explain what exactly it is but well... I try.
You should not smile to be pretty but everybody is prettier with a smile (in my point of view). Not a forced, faked smile but a real heartwarming one.
Anyway, I like the message that nobody should care what others think about them.

I understand the message within this as stated before the peotry isn't very deep and well thought out. And I feel like people who do choose to wear make up were targeted when it was called "chemical crap". So, in the same sense that you don't want to be judged people who do wear that "chemical crap" shouldn't be judged either. Some people make an art and living off of it.
I do agree that you shouldn't care about what people think about you. Just like I don't care what people say about the way I dress, how or when I do my make up, or what I do for a career.

It wasn't very deep, powerful poetry. You probably know that. It's a nice message, of course.
People shouldn't let themselves just go into ruin because they don't want to be pretty. Being so defiant that you become and unkempt obese girl isn't the way to take care of your body.

I think I know what you're trying to say, but I think that a lot of the things people do in order to 'look pretty' are the opposite of taking good care of our bodies. Tanning can cause cancer. Straightening hair can cause it to get all brittle. Make up can irritate your face and make you look different from how you usually do. I mean, not all of those things are a big deal, but it seems to me that allowing your hair to fall naturally, not tanning, not surgically altering yourself, and not worrying about being pretty would be a good way to take care of your body. Going with a natural look doesn't mean never showering or getting fat or anything, it just means not altering your body, which is a good thing, not a bad thing.
