Can you tell me how you shot the photo to have this effect? I really want to try shooting while facing the sun so that there's a lens glare. Also, what time of the day did you take the photo?

I think they're both equally beautiful. Each one has it's own nuances (the light saturation in this one, the almost monotone values, yet it's still "clear" and not washed out). The contrast in the black and white one, also makes that a great shot.
