until that day I'd never seen one, I knew it was a small bird species as it wasn't much bigger the large humming bird

So I figured something like type of Ren or nuthatch but wasn't sure, I had to look it up.

Also didn't know they are north America as well, unless there is North American version of it. But I stay still from some time

so I got a good look at it and its a nuthatch and the colors and marks say European
