Since these are 'Lil Nightmares', the desaturated color palette works well (dark colors.) Halloween themes too, anything spooky - cobwebs, spiders, skulls, etc. Maybe things that glow like markings, accessories, eyes, etc.
You're good at experimenting so just wing it~
