The Recluse
The Recluse has a look similar to Spy Smasher from the old serials. (www.imagesjournal.com/issue04/infocus/spysmasher.htm ). An over the head cowl with goggles covering his eyes, the lenses of the goggles are black, while the cowl itself is brown and is kind of similar to an old aviators cap. On his forehead, there is an insignia of a spider (brown RECLUSE spider, get it. He wears loose fitting army style pants and lace up boots with his pants tucked in. He wears an army web belt with holsters on each side. Each holster is tied around his thigh. The entire belt has pouches of the exact kind that the army used during the war to hold extra clips, maps and other things. As an inventor, he has created all kinds of little tools to fill these pouches, like lock picks, tiny flashlights, tiny explosive charges, knock out pellets, a small grappling hook and line with an automatic rewinder, etc. His pistols are heavily modified colt .45’s. The barrels are extended by a couple of inches and then have shortened silencers built into them. There is an engraved insignia of a spider in the hilt of each gun. A note on the spiders on the guns and his cowl: there are only so many ways to draw a spider I think, but these shouldn’t resemble Spider-Mans insignia too closely. Without his mask, he has blonde hair and a bookish look, kind of like a professor. He wears glasses and his goggles are prescription lenses. He wears a black turtleneck sweater and wears a lightweight leather jacket over that which is fairly form fitting. The jacket is brown.
