Please help. D: I just found my tablet hiding in my room. Its dirty, and hasnt been used for many years. Now, i tried to use it but the pen is so slow... I have to click real hard to make it paint. And half way my line, it disappears... Can you help? This tut sounds great, so you have to be prof. 8D
Id be happy if you could help me.

Oh hi,
Sorry I haven't replied any sooner :S
Uhm ... I'm really not a prof or anything near it. Frankly, I think your tablet is just old and somewhat unresponsive. You could use your graphic program, though, to set it to more sensitive. Just find your tablet options somewhere. Also, have you downloaded the software and drivers for your tablet? That might also help. Or maybe it just needs some action to wake up.
And that's all I can think of, almost a month after you asked
Cheers

Oho *sighs*. I think you tried uninstalling it. What exactly does that friggin' thing of you do? Does it say anything or does it just stop working? Is the cable connected? Does it suddenly stop working or from the moment you switch on your comp? Try shouting at it.

I just plug it in. and the little "tablet icon" is down the bottom of my screen, but the pen doesn't work again. I put the disk in and re-loaded the bloody thing, its working but yeah...still mega annoying

OKOK, now you see the Brushes tab in the top right corner, that's the thing you open. There's a list on the left with checkboxes, and if you click one, two things will happen: the box becomes checked, and a menu is opened at the right hand side of the window. Make sure only the boxes for Shape Dynamics, Other Dynamics and smoothing are checked (airbrushing is not very important, I'm not really sure what it does anyway ..^^). For Shape Dynamics, put all the jitters to 0% and select "off". For Other Dynamics Put the jitters to 0% and the boxes to "pen pressure". The brush I've been using a lot lately is the Marker medium Tip, you can select it in the Tool Presets tab.
I hope this answers you question, because otherwise I'm not quite sure what you meant ...
Extra tip: when not filling in with colour, but shading, put your opacity (on the top of the screen when in brush mode) to 70% or lower, and flow to about 70% ...

Oh. Then pick another brush you're comfortable with and use the same settings ^^
How's it coming?

eh its hard to get used to. the brushes i have aren't what i like. With ones i've seen that other have, they seem more flowy and not the same size all round.

Oh darn, I forgot the most brilliant key out there: alt. If you are in brush mode, hold alt and press anywhere on your work, you select a colour. It's hyper-fast colour picking! I use it when making my shading more fluent, by going over everything with a 70% opacity brush in the matching colour. If I'm not making any sense, that's because I haven't had any sleep since what feels like 875 days ago. Just a guess, though. Now I'm rattling. Cya!

You can easily shift sixe with the [ and ] keys. Otherwise, play with the opacity and flow, and the settings in the brushes menu. Just try-try-try, it's what everyone's saying, I know, but it's how I got myself to do what I do (whatever that is -_-'.

Tell it off for me. Maybe it'll help. Tried uninstalling and installing again? Are all the settings OK? What's the problem exactly, it doesn't do anything at all except the light is on?

Siriuslymine4eva In reply to Neryl [2007-10-13 15:58:56 +0000 UTC]
I'll try uninstalling it, and yelling at it too. Hopefully one will work, cause the light is on, and it blinks when i touch the pad with the pen, which means the pen is working. But it wont move the cursor so I cant draw

Neryl In reply to Siriuslymine4eva [2007-10-13 18:55:40 +0000 UTC]
Yelling might work, yes. Try to get it to feel afraid of you, maybe. If you got a mouse with the pack, try and see if that works (don't know about you but I have a special mouse to go with the tablet. It's crap though, so I never use it -_-'.
