It must be hard to find a chameleon with such a structure similar to the branch.

Surprise, surprise! the reptile certainly looks a little like chameleon but it's not. Actually they're kind of anoles - American lizards not very closely related to the latter. One of it's names is 'false chameleon'.

Ha, a real picture of a false reptile.

Wow, a golden reptile. I've just finished a book with one of these as a fantasy species. Mind if I use your lovely photo as a reference when I get round to painting my "Tanagrakka lizards"?

I'm usually not very fond of photos made with Canon. Actually I was not quite sure if I should post this one. Therefore I'm more than glad someone likes it. It would be great pleasure to lend it as a refrence for your work if you wish.

Thanks so much. My golden lizards live on a sacred hill. I'll let you know when I finally paint one and will credit your reference. I love your photo. It's incredible to see a real golden skin like that. Nature is as fantastical as fiction.

I think it's partially the trick of the light but these lizards can change the colour of their of their skin like chameleons do. On previous picture one of them was more like grey but never saw them green yet (if it's possible).

Lizards and chameleons are so cool. This summer we have two geckos on the bedroom walls at night eating moths and anything else they can catch. They are more entertaining than TV. I just lie there and watch them. So beautiful, sort of golden with dark speckles and black eyes.
